I am looking to get a new driver and i know i like the 915 i just want to know how you feel about the two . pros and cons ?

Hi John,
I highly recommend getting fitted and keep an open mind. I went in thinking I would walk away with a D2 (as that is what I have always played in the past) and ended up with the D3. The results were big for me. Let us know what you end up getting!

I would go see a PGA Professional and get fitted for the driver. But I play the D3, i feel it helps my shape my shots better off the tee vs. the D2, but it is not as forgiving as the D2. The 915 driver is the best driver i have ever played.

I would recommend getting fitted, but here is my outlook on the two, the D2 is more forgiving than the D3; however, the D3 allows you to control the shape of your shots better. I had the 915 D2 and just ordered the D3, after I hit the D3 at Golfsmith. Both are outstanding drivers, I would also recommend looking specifically at the shaft that would best fit your swing (speed, plane, etc.) the shaft in the driver really makes a huge difference as well as the head.
richbow9Huddersfield,
I tried them both. The numbers were slightly better with the D3, but ended up buying the D2, just because it's more forgiving. The D3 makes a better sound though!

I have one of each, and prefer the D3, especially on courses where I will need to hit a left-to-right shot in addition to my usual draw.
The head on the D2 is noticeably larger, which is a turn-off in and of itself for many people, but I do get a little more distance (and forgiveness on off-center hits) with it. If I am going to a tight driving course, I'll always take the D3. When it's more wide-open, I bring the D2.

Played the 910D3 until the 915s came out and during the fitting noticed the difference in accuracy with the D2. Lost maybe 5 yards during the fitting, because the fitter asked that I bring the old driver. Very close in distance on the course. Personally, I will take the accuracy. Just one person's opinion.

I agree it's all about proper fitting, my playing partner has a D3 i have a D2 he's a high spin player I'm a low spin player. i'm about 20 yards longer? but i'm also 12 years younger but with his D3 setup his gap is a lot closer than one would think to total distance.
GET FIT.
