Can't get extra wraps on new clubs anymore?

    I just got fitted for a new 917 d3 and was advised that titleist no longer will add extra wraps of tape to the grips once the order was placed. Why is this?

    Never heard of this before, if you're paying to be fit then the grip has to be right for you also. I grip my own clubs now and use 3 layers of tape.

    Not sure if you got fitted by one of the Titleist certified fitters, but I had my new 917 ordered through Titleist with 3/64 oversize. Came out perfect!

    And through a Titleist rep, you can send your clubs back to Titleist to be re-gripped with the grips and size of your choosing. Just one of the many reasons why Titleist is #1!

    When I ordered 716 irons with Winn Grips, I was told those couldn't get extra wraps. I don't know if it is true for all grips or all clubs. Or just the grips I got.

    Maybe because the order was already in production? I just got my 716 AP2 irons with +2 wraps from Titleist.

    I know that you can order and spec your grip tape on the Vokey Site.

    After a lengthy talk with customer service i got to the bottom of this. They can get me 8 wraps on my over sized tour velvet but that is the max. I have to reference a previous 716 ap2 order i placed which had this done. I guess this was just a communication issue.

    I ordered mine with no grips. I prefer to grip my own so they shipped the clubs with the grips separate.

    I have never had an issue getting my custom Titleist clubs built with extra wraps. Just received most recent clubs in January with an extra wrap under New Decade MC grips.
