Bruce...Best recommendation is to find a Titleist Thursday event in your area and schedule an iron fitting. It's free and will certainly give you the correct shaft answer. We could suggest a starting point, but at your/my age, a fitter is your best answer. Depends on your conditioning and flexibility. Handicap is a starting point - but that includes your entire game including putts. The good news a good fitter can get a set of Titleist clubs to match your game. Also, at our age, don't pay attention if a "set" is 3-P or 4-W. Most of us start with a 5 or 6 iron and fill with hybrids to get the ball up better than with a long iron.

Ask your fitter to try the Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage "A" flex shafts in addition to the steel options. I have been playing them for two years and am very satisfied with the switch from steel.
