are the headweights the same if the shaft is steel or graphite? i have aset with the tensei red but might go to the amt red steel

  2. Mark, just curious, what is the reason for your thoughts on going to steel? Is it a switch back or were you always playing

    graphite?

Got a set for a good price but used to playing steel. These feel a little light and I noticed that for graphite, they are on the light side (60grams or so)

Titleist do have different weight heads- switching from the Tensie red to the AMT Red Steel in your current set will increase swing weight approximately 4 swing weight points so you will need to make some adjustments if you want to get back to your current swing weight. Heavier grips will decrease swing weight 1 point for each 5 gram increase and each 2 gram decrease in head weight will reduce swing weight 1 point.

When I was fitted for my last set of irons (716ap1s) I questioned my fitter about moving from steel to graphite at my age (70 at the time) and he told me with all the new technology in in lighter steel shafts I could easily stay with steel. It all has to do with your fitter and the numbers at your fitting. I still swing stiff shafts. XP105s.
