How long do special orders usually take?

  1. Last Saturday I special ordered via Dicks Sporting Goods a Left handed Titleist TS2 with the Project X smoke 6.0 shaft. Unfortunately I am lefty and options are limited even online, so I have to special order it even with one of the stock shafts. Either way, I am excited about playing it.

Today I went to Dicks and checked the status of it and it says that it is not shipping until the 29th. That seems like a long time to build a club, especially with stock stuff, and finally ship it. It has already been 5 business days. How long does the special order process usually take? Is there any way I can get a status straight from Titleist?

Usual build time is 3-5 days for custom orders, and up to 5 business days shipping to the East Coast. The other confounding issue is box retailers generally have to send orders to corporate and then corporate has to submit the orders. Depending on their order cycle, that could add 5-10 business days.

Titleist will assign an order number for tracking, but this may not be supplied to the store. It may take time for the store to be able to trace the order through corporate. Without the number, there is not much that can be checked.

  3. I just had a fitting 2 weeks ago, im curios if there is a big back log or are things running at normal speed. trying to get a timeline for when they may be here.
  4. James, I ordered a set of T200 irons and vokey wedges on 6/18 after a Titleist Thursday fitting, and they still have not shipped out yet. I heard the shafts (x100) and the grips (golf pride new decade) that I ordered are super low on inventory so that is adding to the delay. I was told they should be shipped out by the end of the month. I am hopeful that is true.
  5. thank you guys yeah i got golf pride grips but they are jumbo so not sure, but the 31st will be 4 weeks so im hoping to hear something soon. Just excited to get everything ive never owned a set of clubs newer then 8 years old and had never had anything fitted, only extended because im tall. So im ready for them for sure

I work for Golf Galaxy, it’s really up in the air and depends on what components they have on hand, even with stock. They quoted me 4-6 weeks on most iron sets last week so it could take longer than normal. It used to take an average of 2 weeks to get a special order back.

With respect there is not such thing as normal with this darn pandemic.....Titleist staff are working very hard to get the products out as quickly as possible.......under "normal" circumstances, it would be ten workdays if all the components are in stock.........I would recommend checking with the fitter/club/shop who ordered the clubs and they can followup with Titleist and get an update for you.......they have the order number and that makes it easier to followup......good luck.....cheers, Chuck

My custom T100s irons (6-W) arrived at the club yesterday. I picked them up this morning and will unbox them and put them into play tomorrow, weather permitting. I replaced my 716 AP-2 6-P and my SM7 Vokey. The new ones are standard loft and lie, except the W. I had them weaken it from 48 to 49 to better gap with my remaining Vokey SM7 wedges of 54 and 58. The fitting showed over a ten yard gain with the 7 iron, so I am expecting good things from these.

  9. When did you place your order? Just wondering how long you had to wait overall.

11 July by email to the fitter. Not sure if the order went in that day or the following Monday, the 13th.
  11. I must have hit the Titilest Lottery...I ordered my T200, 4-L, 2 degree up, S300 Shaft, Mid Size Tour Velvet Grip on Tuesday July 21st and I picked them up today. I am beyond shocked it went that fast especially being told 5-6 weeks. Can’t wait to swing them.
  12. I placed an order for custom T400 irons on 6/10 thru TGW. I was told 3-4 weeks. When that didn't happen I was told July 19. When that didn't happen I was told July 31. That did not happen either and yesterday I was told it would be approximately 10/21! I just cancelled the order.

Ok first these things are beautiful second if I ordered these like a week and a half ago will they arrive at the club house I ordered them through on the 28th release date?

  14. Hello- I ordered a set of vokey sm8’s as a special order through my local dicks sporting goods. They just have the stock grip and shaft, so I expect they won’t take that long to build. The order was placed on 8/21 and I was just trying to get a sense of when they would ship and then when they would arrive. Thanks.
  15. Ordered a set of T300s on 6/11/2020. They still aren't here about 2.5 months later. Fitted and ordered from PGA Superstore, they seem to have bad info in their system - anticipated ship date still shows 7/31 (almost a month ago).

Anyone else having issues? I'm on hold with customer service for the last hour or so and can't get a reply via email for the last month, despite several follow ups.

  16. I ordered t300 irons back in March and got fast service. I recently ordered two woods and got really slow service. I ordered around 7/25 after a Titleist fitting at a local golf club and still haven’t got my clubs but they were shipped today. Pretty disappointed because my order didn’t show in their system for a long time and they never updated me on timing. Hopefully, worth the wait.
  17. That is about the same story for my T400 order. I ordered on 6/10 I think it was thru TGW. They first told me 3-4 weeks, then told me 7/19, then told me 7/31. The final date they gave me was 10/21. They said upright was back ordered along with grips. I had to contact customer service each time they missed a ship date. Nobody informed me of any changes without me contacting them to find out what was going on.

I just got fit last week for a special order on some T200s and got an email last night that they started building them.

I should also add a couple of things the Titleist fitter said. He said 2 degree upright gap wedge heads were on backorder, but my set was 1 degree up so that did not affect me. And the Tour Velvet 360 black and white grips were on backorder, so I went with the black and grey. So as someone noted above, it depends on what components they need to build your set that may drive longer manufacturing times.

And it is a crazy world we live in.

I placed an order for T100's and SM8's on 8/4. I was told 2-3 weeks to ship. I received the wedges on 8/24. Last week I checked on the status of the T100's and was told 6 weeks! Apparently the heads are on backorder. I cancelled my order and will reorder when they are back in stock. Needless to say I was very disappointed.

In my experience, I only order through pro shops. As a regular customer, I get a slightly better price than at a large retailer and I get great service. The order gets to Titleist the next business day, and they notify me if there is an expected delay. So far, Titleist has under-promised and over-delivered on estimated shipping dates.

The one time I did order from a box store, it was a nightmare to track the shaft. There was no one person or number to call to check. At least the pro shop doesn't make up stories or dates to get rid of me.

Stuff will happen, but I do get the correct information.

  22. I worked with a Titleist fitter during one of their Titleist Thursday events to place an order for my new custom set of T100s in July 2020.

I was told that their factory was currently running on all cylinders with 3 shifts, and to expect my order to arrive within a week.
I thought the timeline was very aggressive considering it included shipping & transit time as well, but lo and behold, they arrived in exactly 5 business days and I couldn't believe it.

Your mileage may vary depending on your physical location.
  23. I ordered T300's on August 6. Was told 2-3 weeks and it was a month today.
  24. Have u received clubs yet?? Ate they standard or custom
  25. I placed a custom order for a set of T300's on Oct. 28 and was told 2 days ago that they're on back order to ship Dec. 14th. 3-W2, Tensei Stiff, 1/2" over, 1.5 weak lie, +2 wraps 1/32", Tour Velvet grips. Merry Christmas!!
