  1. Hi, I don't have a huge budget so rely on the second hand market. I've been looking at getting a titleist 818 h1 21 degree hybrid. Has anyone had one or still got one that can give me some feedback on them to help with my decision. Thanks

  2. Hi there! My 818 H1 21* hybrid is my favorite club in my bag -- it's easy to launch, has effortless distance, feels great, and the ball just looks beautiful coming off the clubface. I definitely consider it a scoring club. In fact, I'll even lay back on a drive or second shot on a long par 5 just to get into my 21* hybrid's range -- I trust it much more than my 4, 5, and even 6 iron.

I've briefly considered upgrading to a TS or TSi 21* hybrid, but I can't imagine there's much benefit gained for me by going to either of those models. I just love the 818 too much.
  3. That's great to hear. I've watched vids on YouTube about them and they seem really good. Thank you for your feedback

I suggest the TS2 model. I had an 816 H1 in 19 degree for a long time. I demoed the 818 and didn't experience any noticeable difference. When the TS2 hybrids came out I tried it out and and it was very different for me. I don't hit it a lot during a round but it is one of my favorite clubs in the bag. Great off the tee and pretty much any lie (except heavy rough - I try to avoid that). Even use it as a putter in the first cut around the greens.
  5. The ts models are out of my price range. I like the look of the 818 with the changeable weight to go with the hosel adjustment. Looking into the h1 as its slightly bigger and suits my eye better

Feel you on the budget. Almost all of my clubs are used or leftovers. I play a 816 H1 in 19* & 23* and recently added an 818 H1 27*. They are as previously stated probably my favorite clubs to hit after my 56* SM5 Vokey.
  7. About 90% of my bag is all second hand. I'm looking at the 21° h1 so I can fit it between my 5 wood and 5iron

    818 H1 21° is still a excellent scoring club.
  9. Glad to hear, think it's definitely the club I'm going to get

I am still gaming my 818 H1 19° and I have truly considered adding a 21° or 23° to the bag.

I purchased a used 818H2 23* to replace a 4 iron about a year ago and it performs great. Also carry an 816H1 19* and it is a go to club for the 190-200yd distances. I would not have any reservations about the 818H1 from what I have experienced in its sister model.
  12. I have an 818H1, 23 degree, that I've considered replacing with both the TS, and TSi lines and neither gave me results or confidence to switch. The 818's were soooo good.

I’ve added a new hybrid through the 818 23 degree. It replaces my 6 iron. Neither TS or TSi has fit the gap any better. I also have a 915 7W in the backup bin since Titleist hasn’t offered one LH since then.
Unlike driver where I need to squeeze every last yard as I decline with age, the 818 still fits the distance gap.. The TS lines sound better, but I don’t need more distance over my next iron. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
  14. So I decided to get the 816 h1 in 21° with stiff diamana shaft. It was more in my price range and in superb condition it practically looks new. Can't wait to get out on the course with it

I really wanted a hybrid to replace 4iron. I haven’t used a hybrid in years but wanted something I could hit around 220 from the rough. Found a new 818h1 23* for $100 and wow is it amazing. Was able to upgrade to the AD-DI 95X shaft for another $120. What a weapon. Couldn’t be happier. All my friends who have played the 818 thru TSi say I’m not giving up anything with the 818.

Yeah, the H1 are really pretty good with high launch and it probably will fit a larger good group of variety shafts which was really what I wanted. And I most definitely understand being in a budget so when I couldn't get the H1 the the 818 H2 19° & 21° that wasn't very popular because of its lower launch was the one that became available to me that I needed to try out and learn more about hybrids. With the correct shaft for me and some range work, those two became an alternate club to my 5w.
Additionally, I came across a TS 27° that has surprisingly been very versatile- I'm able to opt for a low or as high a shot as the loft provides.
With that said, I'll now know it and have something to compare in the future hybrids that I really want in the bag. The experience in the learning curve for the price was well worth it.
  17. I saw a few 816 h2 on ebay, but I don't really like the shape of the head. I also wanted something that was easy to launch as I can sometimes struggle with getting decent height out of them. I like the size of the head on h1 it's just more appealing, I have the 913hd which has quite a large head so it fits in with that quite well
