  1. I ordered my son a set of t200. He fell in love at his fitting with the feel, performance, and the looks. Since ordering them I’ve seen complaints about the back plate finish not holding up and others have said they’re fine. What are you guys doing that aren’t having issues to prevent it? Are iron head covers the only answer?

Mine are holding up well but my expectations are no different from any other club, that over time, there will be signs of wear. As long as the back plate does not come off, I am good. I have said this before, golf clubs are tools and tools used often in any line of work show wear. Some of the roughest looking clubs I have ever seen were actually those in tour professional's bags when I used to marshal at Colonial in Fort Worth TX. It makes sense as they put in the long hours are are only concerned about how the club performs, not how pretty it looks in the bag. Hopefully your son enjoys his set as much as I do mine.
  3. Thanks Dale. He is very excited about them. Apparently they’re supposed to ship March 7th. Hopefully that’s true. He can’t wait. Going from us kids tour series, they’re his first adult set. He loves the feel at contact. The look on his face during his fitting was priceless. Numbers were impressive also. They were working for him and his swing.

Word is that Titleist will have a shorter version bag, Players 4 Carbon-S in the 2022 line up. That might also work good for him.
  5. Nice! That’s good to know. I’ll keep an eye out for that.

In order to minimize bag clatter on my T200's i reverted back to head covers. Will see how that goes..

I use the Titleist 14 hybrid bag which separates clubs in the bag. That seems to stop the wear from carring the bag.
  8. My T200 back plate is all scratched due to rattling in the bag. I’m kind of ok with that but am aware that when I sell it in 2 years time (when the new T200 is out again) the price I get for the used set will be lower than previously as the scratches are unsightly.

Now the back plate of the 7 iron is rattling and is loose. Contacted Titleist and I’m sure they will sort it out for me.
Only concern is how long to wait for the replacement. I understand shipment of new clubs is now June.

If it's just a repair and not a replacement, which it sounds like it is, then it will be done within the assembly plant and parts delays will not be an issue. They will probably remove the back plate and add epoxy.
  10. They sent a replacement 7 iron head to my fitter who changed the new head into my old shaft so no waiting period at all.

Head covers are my answer. I have a 14 way bag, so, I am able to remove about half of my iron covers, when playing, as, bag chatter is minimized due to the bag set up.
  12. His clubs showed up today. Ordered in late January and we were happy they were here this soon. His are Amt red shafts, regular flex, one inch short. Nothing crazy on a special order. Maybe that’s why they showed up this soon. We decided to go with a nice set of magnetic covers to keep them looking good. I know some people frown on them, but he loves his clubs and wants them to stay looking good.

Glad to hear he got them! I think some of the issues right now in delays are a combination of the heads AND shafts. I have an order for the T100's and while the shafts are in stock, they are waiting on the heads of the T100's. I was told that if I was interested in the T200's I could receive them MUCH quicker than waiting it out for the T100's.

Let the haters 'HATE', if you want iron covers, then use them. Sometimes I'll use a push cart and get some grief from some young guys, but who cares...
