Does anyone here have a 7 wood? I'm contemplating getting one and swapping it out with me 3I Utility T200. I have been struggling to hit is consistent at all, and compared to my TSr2 3W, I've gained much more confidence with this. So I'm just wondering of peoples experiences with a 7 wood (21 degree loft).

    TIA!

  2. My son plays a Tsi 7 wood and it’s a weapon for him. He’s not a long hitter, so a 215-220 yard club that goes high and lands soft really helps his game. He prefers it over a hybrid or driving iron. He plays it off the tee, fairway, and occasionally the rough. Usually a high draw is the shot with his. His favorite course has a 220 yard par 3 from the whites and a couple of dog leg par 4’s that it works out well for him. Much higher with more carry and very little roll compared to his Tsi2 hybrid
  3. 7 wood has been great! I have an old 910F 21 degree that is my favorite club. It will have to be replaced soon so I'm looking for a newer replacement. Given the great experience with the 7, I'd even be open to a 9 wood.

Do not fear the FW Metal!!!
I just put into my bag a TSR2 18 Degree.
It's awesome and gets me the yardage I want with room to go after it.
Hybrids never were my thing...listen to your fitter and give a FW Metal a try!!!

    Cheers,

I just ordered a new TSR2 21 deg fairway wood. I found that this a better suit for me than hybrid. Few years ago, I was always playing hybrids and did not like woods.

So my conclusion is, never say never. With time, you can change your mind on a type of club. If you find the right way to play it, you could fall in love with it.

I've been playing a TSR2 7 wood for the last season and a half and have really enjoyed it. I am probably going to end up taking it out of the bag as I don't really find myself at that yardage that often.

I went through so many hybrids even went to the 909 which was the best I tried. But I never could hit one other than left. I went 2022 without anything from 3 wood to my 4 iron. Last November I seen the tsi leftovers at GG with senior shaft. Talked the wife into getting it for my birthday and threw a 5 wood shaft in it. I couldn’t miss with it. But I was getting a bit too much from it with my gapping. Went to a local golf shop and found a tsr2 7 wood with a Oban shaft. I gave them 50 bucks and my like new tsi and have not looked back. It’s my 215-220 club and if I’m not feeling my 3 wood that day I will use my 7. Easiest club in the bag to hit. Flies high and lands soft. It will stay in my bag for several years. As it’s my go to club for sure. Good luck buddy on your decision.

I received my 7 wood tsr2 last week. After one visit at the range and only few shots, I could tell that I am very happy with this tsr 7 wood. It is launching high far and with a nice trajectory. It is a good complement to my tsr3 16.5. It should work find in rough also.

On my last visit, I also brought my TS2 21 deg. Hybrid. It has a nice flight but lower than the 7 wood and also at least 15 yards shorter. It was also very easy to hit. I will keep it also in the bag.

The 7 wood is a very good acquisition for my game.

Hello. What is the loft on the TSR2 7 wood? On the site it says 21 as the highest lift in the TSR2 range but it thought that is a 5 wood, with 16.5 a 4 wood and 18 - 20 being a 5. Is the 21 degree considered a 7?

Yes but no need to get hung up on the 3,4,5,7 wood labels. Just go with calling them xx degree fairways as some people use a set up that might go 15 degree and 21 degree without a gap issue because of shaft selections. You will find they all use the same head covers with a tab you can open to show what degree loft it is.

I was also looking at replacing both a strong lofted 5 iron for a 7 wood or a hybrid, and an old 4 wood to a 5 wood
After a fitting ended up nowhere near what I thought I was going for
To replace the 5 iron I ended up with a TSR1 7 hybrid- 29 degrees of loft turned down to 28 with 1/2” longer shaft.
It is like a small headed fairway rather than a hybrid and launches the ball same height as a wedge- crazy. 180-190 yards coming down from 100 feet certainly helps hold greens
I also got fitted for the 5 wood- similar story- prefer the small profile of the TSR3 but fitted for 20 degree TSR1 fairway (6 wood?) with half an inch longer shaft
Again height and carry all good- only thing I dislike is the big head when hitting from fairway
If you can, get a fitting- always an interesting experience

My TSi1 7 wood is one of my favorite clubs.
