That's a decision you have to make. If you trust your own assessment, and you have access to all the different shafts, heads, etc. then go for it. A Titleist fitting most likely will have a larger selection of options, and you might find a setup that works better for you.

With your experience my guess is you can find an appropriate shaft. If you want to achieve ideal conditions of launch, consistent distance dispersion, and descent angle to hold greens, you would also need access to an electronic flight scope to verify spin and ball speed.

At 68, you may be an accurate enough ball striker to hit the T100 or T150, but would you do better with the T200? If conditions are good enough for 7-PW, do you no longer maintain 5 mph ball speed from the 7 to 6 iron? Are you willing to use a split set? How long do you expect to keep the irons? At 73 (5 years) expect some decline.

If you can find a Titleist sponsored fitting with a $100 deposit, that is refunded with a purchase at that site. That gives you an expert to bounce ideas about what to choose. So the price to buy online from your own fitting or after a Titleist fitter’s input is the same.

Going to fittings on the web pages, those Titleist fitters likely won’t be doing fittings in NC before March, but you can give them your contact information and they will notify you when they start up scheduling.

I played the 2019 model of the T300s and have used the same fitter for a number of years. I always go to him because he is very qualified, knows my game, and is a Titleist certified fitter, plus many other top brands. At 77 not a lot changes other than speed. The only change that we made this time was in the heads. We went with the new T350s. Love the look and feel of those forged irons. Went to him when they first came out and he told me to come back. Was in my early stages of physical therapy and my speed was horrible, not enough to justify new club, let alone a game of golf. My PT Dr got me moving in the right direction and we made the right move. Still at 2* flat and 1/2 over. I think you need to ask yourself; have your numbers changed enough over the past two cycles that you need another opinion. Also are you comfortable enough with your own fitting experience vs another fitter's regarding getting the maximum output from a better shaft in your new set. Many fitters are recommending blended sets now. A second opinion from a certified fitter is worth it.

Greg, With your experience, I would think you could find a combination that would work well. However, even some of the best fitters I know will get a second opinion when looking for their own new gamers. At the very least, doing a “pre-fitting” for yourself should get you a great starting point, and possibly allow more time at a paid fitting to “fine tune” everything.

At the end of the day it’s up to your discretion what works best. You said “I hit them ok, considering the club.” The cliche here is “do what you to best and outsource the rest.”

Tech in golf has taken off huge in the 25 years I’ve played. Playing at 68 is inspiration for everyone here. We have a centurion in a Pontiac league.

My take away is that a fitting would challenge you. You are set on the T100 and that’s what you’ll hit for sure. However, beyond shaft, another head or blended set or any combination could put things in a different light.

If anything enjoy the experience and see what gains if any have taken place in the world of fitting that may just put that edge back in your bag.
