I have a set of 3-PW AP2 irons with the Project X 6.0 shaft and the PX 5.0 in the 3-iron. Appear to be reshafted. Serial number is 86LAB. I've heard conflicting information on AP2 serials. Can anybody provide information on this serial number?

Not sure if this helps, but my guess is whoever applied that number went a little overboard on the devil's lettuce.

The serial numbers on AP series irons will not help you in any way. These irons are way past the warranty and that's why Titleist uses these numbers. I believe, over time, they clear out the old data and use the numbers again. If you are concerned about counterfeit clubs, the serial numbers can easily be copied by those unauthorized manufacturers. Buy from trusted sources or just look past it and play with them.

The AP lines are between 6-16 years old, depending on the model designation. Reshafted? Possible. Counterfeit? Maybe. Chances that a poorly made counterfeit would still be in the market is unlikely this many years later.
