For the price of re-shafting, you can probably find a set of AP1 or first-gen T300 which will give you greater technology advantages than continuing with the DCI's.

I am in agreement with Dale. I just spoke with my fitter and club builder and the project that you are taking on might cost you more that purchasing a newer used and more advanced Titleist set at a cheaper price. To have what you want done, and done correctly at a repair shop it will most likely cost the following:

$5 per club to set the lofts on the clubs and the most they can bend them is 2*. $40
$9 per club, installed for Tour soft grips. $6 for grip and $3 to install. $72
$55-$70 depending on shaft you choose. $440-$560

Total on this could run you $552.00 to $672.00 not including tax.

Something to seriously consider.

Thanks everyone for the advise and suggestions. I will definitely use the information provided to make my decision, but it is very clear that it’s time for some “New” to me clubs.

Do you have an attachment to the DCI Golds? Club tech has come a long way since those models were introduced back around 1995 or so.

Before you make a decision, consider that there is a limit to how much any heads can be bent. These heads are cast and won't bend more than a couple degrees safely (i.e., without breaking). Get an idea where these are and how much of an adjustment might be required to see if it is feasible.

Then, consider how much reshafting 8 irons will cost. New grips factor in as well. I'd guess you would be looking at something near $50 per club without getting into anything 'trick', either in shaft or grip, so you'll be looking at $400. Maybe you can find a preowned set for similar money with newer tech? Some of the retail stores might be willing to do lie adjustments (and loft checks) at no additional cost if you buy from them. Worth asking.

Check out 2nd Swing.com. A lot of good used clubs. Look at some AP 1's or some early T-Series with the right shafts and lie. They'll help you out.
