Hi Guys, Can I have you help and advice please? I am 4ft 11 and half inch and I'm struggling to carry the ball 170 yards uphill in all weather conditions. The 2nd hole at my golf club as broke many of my rounds of 20 Years of playing. The Golf Ball i use is the Prov1x with a top of the range driver.

The Hole is 270 Yards with the tee shot having a 160 to 180 carry depending on the weather conditions.

    Please help if you can

You might have a nice driver, have you been fitted though? A properly fit club/shaft can make a significant difference
  3. Just joined after picking up my first set 3 years ago, and came for some tips on driving distance.
I just want to echo everyone that says to get fitted. I am 33 and have Rheumatoid Arthritis among some other things, but am determined to use golf to keep myself in shape as much as I am to consistently break 85.
Everyone has been saying to go and get fitted since I started playing since I'm always messing around with my clubs, and I wish I would have listened a few years ago.
I went to get fitted after having tons of success with my Vokey wedges and Scotty Cameron, test out some of the new 2019 drivers and definitely trade in my 2016 Titleist AP2s.
I learned more in that hour than I have from anyone else, and came away with some really good suggestions for longevity. Like switching to graphite, and considering a regular flex shaft. These were both completely foreign things to me, and have already made significant improvements. He spent time adjusting my stance, my weight transfer, explaining what every question I've come up with out there on my own means and if I should pay attention to it or not...way more than just what clubs fit for my size.
Thanks to the Titleist community! Everywhere I find you I learn something new and improve my game.

I know I'll never drive as far as even the Champions Tour, so I do use LPGA events to watch what they do. They have 5' players that can reach 250+ yards. It's not just equipment - although well fit does help. But what else you can do is look at an exercise program for core work strengthening and yoga for flexibility. I wish I started 35 year ago and not 2 years ago. Besides golf, it contributes to your day to day well being. At 69 I've gained 5 mph club head speed from 2016 and that's about 12-15 yards more carry. And essentially eliminated lower back pain (although I don't tempt the fates by trying to carry bricks anymore).

If your golf club has a PGA Pro, you should seek his advice in a private lesson. Of course a fitting would benefit but if you can't get it out any farther than 170 yds, your swing may be too short or too slow. How is your driving distance on the other holes? A lesson would be my first recommendation.

  7. I love playing golf. I have been playing for 75 years
  8. I love playing golf Been doing it for 70 years
  9. Looking forward to hearing from you
  10. Love the game! Been playing 50 plus years. I use Titleist clubs and balls. I am about ready for some new clubs I will be using Titleist. Which ones do you recommend?
  11. I would say go to a Titleist rep (Cheap answer I know). I went to one last year with the intention of getting some irons but had no idea what was right for me. I hit a bunch of different types in Golftown but couldn't make a decision... so the Titleist rep made it for me! I had a guy named Rishi who was incredible, tried tons of different irons/shafts etc and ended up with a nice new set of AP3s (4-G)... and then ended up grabbing three vokeys as well.

Go to a rep! They know best! I went from nothing Titleist except the ProV1 two years ago to everything Titleist from driver, hybrid, irons, wedges, putter and bag. TT.
  12. Thank you! I look forward to hearing from you. I plan to continue playing with Titleist clubs and balls. Can you spare me some new ones? I would love to have some.
  13. It is a great idea to get fitted. If you can go to a golf course that has golf club manufactures day at the range you can first pick you clubs with help from companies reps. After that get fitted and then get a lesson. Technology today is awesome. I have TS3 driver and a TS3 fairway wood, 19 degree 818 H2, 3-5 718 CB 6-pw 718 MB. (sm6 wedges). Nowadays you can mix and match to get what you need to feel confident which leads to better golf scores. It took me some time to narrow my clubs down wih all the clubs and shafts. I also am big on feel vs. distance so todays selections of clubs/shafts are great. So hit some clubs, get fitted, take a lesson, figure out what works best for you and have fun watching your scores improve. One more thing the right shaft makes a world of difference. Good luck
