  1. This Memorial Day weekend I drove the wife and kids down to El Dorado Arkansas to see my in-laws for the first time since the Covid-19 lockdown. My wife suggested that I bring my clubs in order to get a round in at one of my favorite courses in the world, Mystic Creek Golf Club. (If you are ever within 400 miles and have your clubs I would highly recommend making the trip to play this hidden gem.) I had a tee time as a single but fortunately struck up a conversation with a member on the range who mentioned that their group had a guy no show due to the rain and he invited me to join their game. (10 guys, 2 teams, 2 score best ball match with a skins game.) I found out before we teed off that I was playing with my Wife's high school golf coach, so stories flowed freely and a great time was had. The first 15 holes were okay, nothing to write home about. I am a 5 index and my handicap for the course was a 10 and the rain wasn't helping out much, but I managed to counteract the bogies with a few birdies and nothing could beat the company and the course we were playing. We went off the back first so our 16th hole was the par three 7th. I walked up to the tee and shot the flag at 136. The rain had stopped by this point but it was still very muggy and the air was heavy. I scuffed the previous Pro V1 I was playing with on the cart path of the hole before, so I removed it from play and took out a brand new Pro V1, #1 for the hole. I pulled my 9 iron and hit 4th in the group of 5. The assistant pro had just pulled up to the tee to tell us we could take the carts off the paths when I addressed my ball. I took one of the best feeling swings I had made all day and hit a pure 9 right over the flag about 3 yards. We saw the ball slowly roll back towards the cup and then we noticed that is settled awkwardly near the hole almost like is was suspended on the lip and oscillating on the lip of the cup. We turned to the Assistant Pro and asked if he wouldn't mind driving up and seeing if that had gone in. He sped towards the green, walked up the left side turned and put his finger in the air and the did the "count-it" motion with his finger. I was in absolute shock and the members couldn't believe it so we hurried up to the green. There was my Pro V1 sitting in the hole with about 3/4 of the ball below the hole resting on a blue pool noodle. We were ecstatic and some Social distancing celebrations ensued. Just then the cart girl pulled up and asked if she could get us anything. I handed her my card and said whatever the group and the 5 guys behind us want. (Made it a little easier that that was for a team victory and half the skins.) This was my first hole-in-one that I have ever had in my 33 years of playing and there is no better feeling in the world! Thanks for making it possible Titleist!
