  1. My mom taught me the game back in '67. A gallon of gas was .34 cents and as any 8 year old I wanted to help Dad cut the lawn. He said "take this gas can up the gas station and fill it up, should be one gallon". Well... I did and took that extra 1 cent and bought a Bazooka bubble gum! Ah, what a summer this would be. I thought about helping dad cut the lawn this summer now that I was 8!.But, when I got back, my mom was putting her golf clubs in the trunk. I said "what is that your doing?" "Golf!" she said.. "Want to play?" I was hooked ever since then that summer! Wel,l I caddied at Rolling Green Country club in Arlington Heights ILL. as my dad did in '41. Played golf on the High school team and for a brief time in college. Got married, pumped out 2 kids, worked and retired. Now after 3 years (retired) I get my first hole in one. This during some very trying times, Covid-19. It was a cool but sunny day at the Steeple Chase Golf course in Mundelein IL. After a not so thrilling 41 on the front, I teed off on ten, hit to 10 feet and narrowly missed my birdie. Ho hum a par. Not feeling any different than any other day golfing, I lazered the pin, 121 yrds. Playing the Blue tees, the 11th hole of the day. With 114 to cover the water (a pond) and a touch of wind (a little down wind) I teed up my Titelist Pro v1 and took aim. The pin was up front right corner. No one really goes at that pin as 10 yards right of green is death in the woods. I teed up on the right side of the tee took aim at the pin just 5 yards to the right (I normally hit a5- 10 yard draw). I figured the worst I could do was hit the center of the green. Well, to my amazement the ball never left the pin. It came straight down th flag pin pole . "Clank"! We both saw in hit the pin about 2 feet up and straight down SLAM DUNK! I couldn't't believe it.
