My passion for golf began at the age of five years old and my love of the sport only deepened when I made the varsity golf team last year at Wheeling Park High School. On August 17, 2021 we were playing a match against two other teams on our home course, the Championship Robert Trent Jones at Oglebay Park. On number 11, which is a downhill par 3 with a hazard all along the right side of the green, I pulled out my eight iron and played the shot off the hill on the left. What happened next was amazing and miraculous; the ball rolled down the hill onto the green and coasted into the hole. There was a small gallery, including my grandparents (MO and POP) and two coaches from the other teams. Pop was saying "go in" "go in" go in" and it did! It was a mind-blowing experience. The ball I used was a Titleist Pro V1 which was a "find" from earlier in the round; I am not sure why I pulled it out of my pocket instead of my new Titleist monogrammed Pro V1 (gift from my grandparents) but it will forever be my lucky golf ball. My hope is for our team to again win the state championship this year with my Hole-in-One being a major highlight of the season.
