Played my last nine hole round for the year in our senior “Gents” league yesterday, at Eagle River Golf course, Eagle River WI.
I’ll be 75 in a week and have been golfing for 60 years. I’ve always enjoyed it, but now am experiencing the loss of distance, consistency and a rising handicap. Age is brutal to your game.
Started out by losing my Titleist tour soft on the first hole. Dang it! But I recovered and hit a five wood over the pond landing on the green. Took a bogie but that’s pretty normal. Three more holes and I started to wonder why I was golfing anymore. The fifth hole is a par 3 from an elevated tee. I grabbed my 7 iron and hoped for the best. To my surprise, I watched my ball land on the green and role into the cup! Golf was wonderful again!!!
