This is my third hole in one, interesting enough, witness number one Gregory Fenton was the witness on my first hole in one June 17, 1993 on his wedding day, Greg, had a golf outing the morning before his ceremony and I had a hole in one on at the Stratton CC Stratton VT. The Mountain course hole number seven a 214 yard par three. I used a Spalding 4 1/2 wood for that hole in one. My second hole in one was seven years to the day of my first June 17, 2000 at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton Mass. Also on hole number seven A 129 YARD PAR 3 witnessed by Robert Fireman, my most recent hole in one happened at Springfield Country Club in West Springfield Massachusetts At my home course. Hole #2 is a par three A Virtual island green , surrounded by water on 3 sides , usually plays between 100 - 109 yards depending on where the pin is placed. On this day October 1, 2021 my playing partner Greg Fenton and Michael Richard witnessed my most pure hole in one, as soon as I hit it, a miz gap wedge, I said out loud “be the right number” ! It was. The ball had a slight right to left motion Right at the flagstick one bounce trickled right into the cup.
It is worth mentioning, June 25 , 2020 I suffered a mini stroke, I lost the entire use of the right side of my body. It was my main motivational goal to battle back and play golf again. I have done more than that and accomplished more than I ever could’ve imagined after my incident. This is truly an amazing story When I think back to where I was 15 months ago learning how to walk, tie my shoes, write my name, all over again. I had no balance whatsoever, my right side was gone. I spent four weeks in intensive rehab. Followed up by months of physical therapy. Thankfully I have made a full recovery and I play golf 3-4 times a week. I have a passion for the game that helped me overcome a major medical hurdle.
