My wife, Sue, and I live in Calabash NC. In early January we were playing the Tiger's Eye golf course in Ocean Isle Beach NC. The 6th hole is a medium length (100 - 130 depending on the tees used) par 3. At 74 years old, I was playing the golf tees, meaning 107 to the middle. On this day, the pin was situated back right, over a small rise in the green. I hit a pretty solid wedge, and the line was pretty siraight. After my wife tees off, we proceeded to the green. Her ball was about 8' away, and mine was nowhere to be seen. I had a pretty good feeling on the tee that the shot was going to end up close! My wife got to the pin before me, and yes, she confirmed that the ball indeed was in the cup. My wife then proceeded to make her birdie putt. Thus, two 74 year old golfers, made a 1 & 2 one the first full weekend in January. Not a bad way to start the year. In July, we also celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with 3 great rounds of golf at the Pinehurst Resort. It truly has been a good year!
