January 14, 2022 about 1pm we pulled up to the tee box on #11, a diabolical par 3. The front of the green is protected by a creek and bunkers. Further adding to the fun was hitting directly into a 2 club wind. Helping us was a hill or back stop in the back of the green. I hit a little extra club, a hybrid, and the 163 yard tee shot w a light draw and the ball hit into the bank of the hill. As if my ball had eyes, it rolled back on to the green and tracked right in the hole. I have an eye condition that prevents me from seeing my shots finish but thankfully my brother in disbelief described the path of the ball from: “its long into the bank, my gosh this has a chance, headed for the hole, and IT’S IN!!” A very surreal experience to share w my brother who I’ve played golf w for 40+ years and together our first ace. There’s no doubt my dad who introduced this great game to me almost 50 years ago, was watching from above.
