We are playing Golf Club California with the normal Saturday Group. Great friends and College Basketball teammates. The day isn't going particularly well for me. a rough start to say the least. Coming off the crowd-pleasing disaster on the 6th hole, I find myself looking down at a difficult pin position on the downhill 165 yard 7th hole. Wind in off the left and hurting a bit. I set up on the bunker Left of the green and tried to hit a draw in against the wind. Ball came off good and had a good flight drifting left of the flag and starting to straighten out falling right. The ball hits with some spin, rolling to the right, and appears to go in. Getting old and not having the best eyes we snag a range finder and poof the ball is gone. Amazing moment for my first ACE. Been real close but never able to drop it.
The crazy part is my father almost a year to the day Aced the same hole just the year before. I guess the apple stayed pretty close to the tree.
All this with the #1 Pro V 1. Buddies signed it and it is securely held in a safe place.
