This as to be the best shot I’ve ever played (going in the hole we could say luck) but not the shot. It went for ones just where I was playing for. A bit of background I’m an 18 handicap player 21 until a month ago. I played in a stapleford comp on the 7/3/22 and on the 15th hole on the signature course at the Nottinghamshire England I got my first ever hole in one. The hole is a par 4 323 yards dog left hole in-fact it’s a blind hole the first part of the fairway is around the 180 mark straight with trees all along the left then you have two large bunkers with hills behind them then the next problem is the ground drops away into another bunker on the other side before 30 yards of fairway a lip to green. So the normal shot is down the fairway past the top bunkers if you can the you can see the green down hill bunker to the left and right of the green but a nice run off over the green if hit over. But for some reason this hole suits my game or my natural shot, from the Tee you can see a tall tree which is way behind the green but gives you a great line straight over the centre of the green. So my favourite shot on this hole is to shoot about 10 yards to the left of the last tree down the top part of the fair way but I’m going for the tall tree in the distance. My natural curve on my shot (on my very best days) brings the ball back left and hopefully in front of the green but this day the golf gods the wind everything must of been perfect I hit the ball so clear, you can just tell with the sound I knew I was dead on line with the middle of the green, but how far. As both myself and partner walked down to the green I could see a ball on the green, not my ball I was playing with a yellow Titleist this was a white ball. Both bunkers are deep and full of water (a week of rain) so no chance if the ball was in those, I told my playing partner to take his shot give me a minute if I can’t find it I’ll have to put 0 down as it was a comp. I was looking around he went to take his shot and down for a 3, then he shouted your ball your ball i thought he was joking but there it was my yellow pro vx1 with my mark on it. I think I was in shock, couldn’t really speak!! Still in shock, but what a shot down the hole I have to say in the very very back of your mind you hope but never think we’ll I don’t. But the shot shape and area yes 100% is what was hoping for. But then the cherry on top of the cake. My Titleist 917 driver is amazing and the Pro V1X’s when you hit them they stay hit but with control. Since I’ve started using them my handicap as come down 10 points.
