On Monday March 21 while wearing my favorite gray Titleist had and using a yellow Titleist Tour Soft ball, I made my very first ever hole in one during a league competition. I've been playing golf for about 42 years and even though it's been a long time coming, it was worth the wait.
The course is located in Berlin Maryland and is one of two courses at the facility. The 13th hole on the Glen Riddle/Man 0'War course is a par three with water front and right, mounds and railroad tie lined sand traps to the left. The yardage from the competition tees was 137 yards.
Using my 6 iron, which is normally my 140-145 club, I hit a solid high flying shot just left of the flag. As it was in mid-flight, I remember thinking that it would be blown left of the pin by the wind. For some reason, the shot stayed straight and maybe fought against the wind a bit as it headed toward the green. After it landed it was difficult to tell if it was still moving, but it had landed directly in line with the flag. After what seemed like an eternity, but was probably only 4 or 5 seconds, the ball seemed to be still moving and suddenly it just disappeared!!!!!
I have entered my accomplishment with the National Hole In One Registry and I am contacting the manufacturers of the major equipment i was using that day to make them aware of the feat. I've been playing one type of Titleist ball for many years and wearing the Titleist hats for more than a few years now. We play year round here in the Mid-Atlantic so I'm getting plenty of use out of Titleist products. Thank you for manufacturing such a well thought out, well made product of such great use.
Does your company have a Hole in One Registry of those players using your equipment, and if so, I'd be proud to be included in your registry!!!!
