My 13 year old son golfs 3-4 times a week during the summer , my 11 year old daughter has recently taken interest in golf as well so on Fourth of July , 2025 we decided to start a new tradition and play 9 holes in the morning at the golf course down the street .I havent really played in many years so my son was certainly dreading being held up by me and his sister . As we approached the 2nd hole of Skugamaug country club I pulled out my 9 iron that is over 20 years old , pulled out my titlest ball, no practice swing just relaxed calm walked up and hit the ball . I knew it was a good straight shot to my surprise the 4 some in front of us getting ready to make their way to the next tee box started yelling and cheering as they watched my ball go directly in the hole . Not sure who was more shocked my husband or my son ! Total mom flex , if they weren’t there to witness it I’m pretty sure they’d never believe it . This mom using clubs older than my children that I got second hand ( since we all know kids get everything new and parents always get the used leftovers lol ) just nailed a HOLE IN ONE !!!! The look of their faces was priceless - Round of Beers (root beers for the littles ) and bragging rights for at least the week was worth everything . Now looking to join a women’s league since I had so much fun and my kids now looking forward to our next family outing !
