  1. Every golfer dreams of that one magical shot, the elusive hole-in-one. Mine happened at the Treetops Masterpiece in Gaylord, Michigan, and it’s still hard to believe it actually happened.

It was a par 4, with the green smack dab at 300 yards. I pulled out my driver, which my friends and I call “Big Rahm,” channeling my inner Jon Rahm.

The moment the ball left the clubface, we all tracked it in silence. One of my friends broke first: “That has a shot to hit the green.” We watched as the ball soared, then disappeared. My other buddy started flipping out: “I just lost the ball I think that went in!”

The drive up to the green felt like the longest ride ever. My mind was racing: Did it roll off the back? Is it hiding behind the hole? It didn’t seem believable

When we got to the green, there was no sign of any balls on the putting surface. That’s when the adrenaline really kicked in. We started sprinting towards the hole, hearts pounding. There it was: a cally ball, sitting at the bottom of the cup. My first ever hole-in-one, on a 300-yard par 4.

It got even crazier after the round. I found out nobody had ever aced that hole, even though the Treetops Masterpiece has been around since the 1980s. My shot was, in fact, the first hole-in-one ever recorded on that legendary hole.
