I recently invited a friend for a friendly match at my private club Sanctuary Cove golf and country club. We come to the seventh hole, which is a par 3 playing 121 m straight back into the breeze and a full water carry. I hit a smooth 9 iron which never left the pin. Having worn glasses my whole life, I thought nothing more of it being a good shot, but my friend says” I think that went in!”. I jokingly said”Nah, but I think it’s close!”. “Nah mate that’s gone in the hole hahaha”. I had another look and couldn’t see the ball anywhere on the green, knowing I didn’t hit it short and didn’t have the club to go over the green. We raced up to the green and as sure as the sky is blue, the ball was in the hole for my first ever hole in one!!.
