There is a great debate among the club members I play with to post or not to post handicaps during the winter months when the grass is dormant, fairways are wet and the weather is cold and windy. Not very golf like compared to the peak season. Our club pro feels that during this time of the year that playing the ball "up" is OK due to the above conditions and that the advantage is that the ball does not travel as far due to the cold temperature and the roll is restricted due to wet fairways, so post your handicaps. Also there are many leaves and it is possible to lose a ball that was hit into the middle of the fairway. The group that I play with now agrees that we can roll the ball, lost balls in the leaves are not counted as a penalty and a substitute ball can be played from the general area that the original ball was lost. How does Team Titleist members feel about posting handicaps with the above modifications of the rules ?
