Looking at my golf bag, I was thinking the other day what made me choose titleist? I can remember playing as a junior and also being left handed, I had to play with whatever equipment I could scrounge. I remember my golf coach was a good player, and when he pulled out that Pro Titanium 983 Driver and that cover with the Red Black and White stripes I was awe struck! Of course I could hit titleist balls, but that club was like WOW! It was the clubs quality and what it said about the player to have that Titleist name… We know they don't put out anything less than quality stuff! I had to get some of that action! Years later and Im still smacking Titleist clubs! That had to be the day I chose to spend my money on the best equipment… what momen/club/player made you?

    Bragg Creek,

For me, it was also the 983. I had played cally drivers up to that point and I'm ridiculously picky about how a club looks at address. A club can pack all the technology in the world into the head, but if it doesn't look perfect at address, it'll never make it's way into my bag. So fast forward to the day I caved in the face on my Great Big Bertha, I went looking for a new driver. I knew as soon as I picked that 983 up I knew that it was going in the bag. After that came the 905, which, in my opinion, is still the best looking metal wood ever made. I've played Titleist drivers ever since. That got me looking at the fairway woods and I've had my little 909F2 in the bag for years for the same reason.

The exact same story can be told about my putter. I used a png Zing2 for years, custom bent on my stove to reduce the offset. When I looked down at my Newport 2.6, I didn't even have to roll it. I bought it and went straight to the practice green and fell in love with it. I've had it for 7 years now.

I rounded out the set with wedges when I realized that no other company gives you off the rack options in wedges like Vokey does, and the irons are just kind of there. They look great and play great, so I picked them up to compliment my other sets of Mizzys and Hogans.

Well when I first started playing in 1997 I bought a set of DCI's and they were very good. The 2000's came and i got caught up in trying everything form everybody.

But earlier this year, I tried the 816 H1 as I couldn't find a hybrid Iiked an thought...why not? It simply was the easiest club I had ever hit, I couldn't believe it. So then it was a 2nd H1 and I was just as happy

Soon after that I tried a friends SM6 54 degree around the putting green. I couldn't believe how easy it was to chip with that, so I ordered three for my self, 50, 54 and 56.

Having always wanted a Scotty Cameron, I decided this was a good of time as any to buy one, and demoed a lot of them before deciding on the X7M.

With those two hybrids, three wedges and putter, my handicap dropped from 26 to 18 in just over two months.

Two weeks ago, I ordered a set of AP1's and finally I have a 917 D3 and 917 F2 on order. When they arrive next week, I will have completed a 14 club makeover (and two bags..to top it off!!)

In short I tried them becasue they helped my game and I have continued to improve with each Titleist club I put in the bag.

It all started with Vokey wedges and woods for me because of my Dad- he played all Titleist in his days. I went away for a while and used a different driver for about 7 years until, I found that the 915 D3 totally out performs what I had and everything else on the shelf. This made me look into all other clubs- comparing performances and what I could do with them. So I now have an all Titleist equipment by default through testing and fitting.

On top of it all, not only does Titleist have the best equipment out there, it provides consumer support and guidance through testing and fitting. Titleist Thursdays is one of the ways anyone can zero in onto a better fit and model equipment to fit any golfing styles and level. TPI is out there as well.., and just here online, the staffs interacts, provides information, support and guidance.

Titleist is a company that has everything a golfer could need in an equipment- they are a complete company and can offer a very high quality and performance equipment set from putters to drivers, and you can count on each of them.

    Titleist is home for me.

I've always played Titleist balls and had one Scotty or another in my bag, no matter what other clubs/manufacturers (mostly cally or TM) were in there. What really made me go full out was finally replacing my TM R7 SuperQuad (I had pretty much had quit playing on a regular basis for nearly 10 years) with a 915 D2 10.5*. Loved it. Then the R11 3 wood got replaced with the 915Fd, followed by the 915h to replace my Rocketballz hybrid. Soon after, my Cleveland wedges went into retirement for Vokey SM6s.

I'll be looking for a new set of 716 AP2s next!

Played most of the top brands on the market (cally, png, Muzino, Adams, TM, and decided to give Titleist a second chance and stuck with them after being properly fit. They seem to fit my game, well I should say, I went to a Titleist certified fitter was properly fitted for my swing and game. Am 100% Titleist and enjoying golf.

I've used Titleist golf balls since I was a kid and I'm no spring chicken, so have used them all my life because of the quality. I have several nice Titleist hats that I'm proud to wear and the one I'm presently wearing is black with orange lettering for the present month of October. The orange lettering with Titleist on the front and Halloween Scramble on the back. Then I have two super quality Scotty Cameron putters that have brought me a lot of birds!!!!!
  9. Started on my second set of irons when I picked up a set of used forged 695cbs. I went with Titleist because I thought they would be a better performing club and decided to take the game a little more seriously. Must say I am quite pleased with the clubs and am looking to upgrade my driver, putter, and wedges in the next few years.

I started playing golf more than the occasional round at age 59. And I play LH. Retailers would lead me to the corner with the one SGI set in LH and offer to check the lie. Then I looked at what was offered from various OEMs. Only png and Titleist offered full offerings for both LH/RH. I found a club pro shop that offered fittings for both. Turns out it was the only Wisconsin Advanced Fitting Center. I had no idea what that meant, or what the reputation was for Titleist equipment. So I wan't intimidated that Titleist is for better golfers. I had similar results from AP1 and G15, but the AP1 was clearly a cleaner look. The rest is, as they say, history. I know an AFC can find something that fits me and I've since joined that club. Fell into a wonderful spot to learn and enjoy golf. Took me longer to learn to love the Pro-V balls - until you stop slicing, they just go OOB faster. But now I couldn't live w/o either balls or equipment. And drooling in anticipation of my 917 driver and the 20 yards I got over my 913.

I have played most brands and have used Titleist now for the last 3 years. I love their top quality products and the fact that they are not replaced by a new club every quarter :) . I love the the feel and the premium quality that I associate Titleist clubs, gear and balls.

    Cool stories boys!
Mine started with needing a hat the first year I got a junior membership I was 17. First round went to the pro shop and the cool guys around the club told me to just get this hat a black fitted titleist DCI logo cap.
I had a garbage set of Walmart Wilson irons. The next year I got into a used set of 990's and that was it. A great brand that interacts with its members and helps with any club issues you may have. Lots of giveaways etc.
people that knock you for brand locality. Well when it come to the titleist brand it's an easy decision.

    FYI perfect example
I came home last night from work to a set of test balls for testing and remarks. I have 2 rounds booked this weekend. Can't wait

I started playing golf when I was a kid ...and my first set of clubs were Spalding - a set of "cast" blade style irons! You can imagine the stinging pain in the hands when you had a miss!

In our local pro shop, there were not too many clubs that were Titleist in those days - aside from the Bulls Eye putters that were rather famous.

By the time I was an older teen, I noticed more and more of the better players had Titleist in their bags and as junior golfers do, we used to sit around the clubhouse chatting and dreaming of our ideal bags and the clubs that would occupy them. My first set as an older teen - young adult was a set of perimeter weighted Zing clubs -- but I always kept an eye out for the Titleist clubs!

Well, after 30 years of having Png clubs in the bag, I finally started to switch out my clubs about 5 years ago to Titleist. Actually, I had Titleist Vokey wedges for the better part of 20 years as they were my favourite choice of wedges.

I had come to a point in life where I decided -- "hey, I enjoy this game and now that I am back playing (after all of my injuries and surgeries), I am going to finally go out and get the clubs that I really want".

That was when I picked up my first Scotty Cameron putter and then a new set of Vokey wedges and eventually, I replaced my Irons with the 714 AP2's and then the 913 Driver! My equipment is overwhelmingly Titleist. I had a problem with one of my irons a couple of years ago - Titleist responded in fantastic manner and that just cemented the relationship!

Good equipment backed up by good customer focused service! For me, Titleist is a company that has not lost the traditional values of putting their customers at the center of their business.

It all began with the DT Titleist as I started to play compitive golf as a child. Form there I acquired a set of 755 irons and a 983K driver and never looked back. They always have produced a high quality product with a look to match.

For me it was back in 2000 , I tried the DCI 990's and fell in love with those clubs.(still have them too) Then came the AP1's , still with them and would't change for anything. Hit um straight, Dave...

For me I was having trouble with my irons and my instructor took me to the range and had me hit the AP2 6 iron and I could not believe it. Because of the price I took awhile changing clubs but now have the AP2s with a 21 degree and 25 degree 816H1 hybrids

Just put a 915 D2 driver in the bag. Because the 917s are out able to get a great deal on the driver.

My next purchase I believe will be some wedges and a 3 wood.

By the way I cannot believe the hybrids. I have never hit a club so pure!

I have a theory. Buy the best equipment made and you eliminate the main reason we blame poor play on our clubs. Titleist equipment is the leader in quality and performance. I am 100% Titleist.

Hello Eric H, great post. I have been working at a county owned muni in South Jersey for 21 years. I have seen every brand that golf has. I only started getting serious about this great game 3 years ago. I never gave it a second thought as too what brand I would have. Titleist has never let me down. Best product. Best employees. Best balls. What else can you say.
    Play Well,
