What does it take to set one of these up? I would love to have one here in the Midwest. I missed out on a TCC event in St. Louis, and I’m really regretting not going. There are plenty of great courses in Kansas City, St. Louis, and even the Ozarks. I mean how cool would it be to play Tiger Wood’s new course Payne’s Valley that’s opening this year? Any feedback would be great. DD

Drew. You just need one (or a few) local TT folks to get it organized. Titleist only officially organizes and sets up a few events each year but will support a well organized local/regional outing as best they can, possibly with a few TT items for welcome "swag bags". Abby used to communicate with the organizer and i am sure Rick/Mike/Liz have a plan to get someone to pick up where she left off. Pick your location, lock in a number of tee times, post information here and/or the Travel category and the Facebook page to drum up attendance. Titleist will also link the event to the "Events" tab on the drop down menu under Team Titleist. You will have to track players, tee times, changes, etc. Best to give your event at least 4-6 weeks from announcement to the date to allow time to get folks to sign up. Also try not to plan it too close to another event so you don't get people in conflict of which one to attend. You can look back at some of my posts from the San Diego outing earlier this year to get some ideas. Good luck and have fun.

Shouldn't be to difficult...pick a course, work out a date & cost with the course, then post post an announcement here. That said, I tried to set one up a couple years ago and had two other TT members signup. I hope you have better luck than I did.

Let us know when you have set a date and location, my summer schedule is filling up fast, but would really like to see an event here in MO.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like a lot of work for something that could potentially fail if no one signs up.

That can be the case, but ultimately it is up to you to make it happen! I find it worth it in the long run! I have successfully organized 3 events in Ohio. Once you get it started, it will continue to grow!
    Try it!

On the opposite side of that coin, it will be very rewarding if you get a good turnout. Start small, say 4 groups and work from there. I do think that location & course is also a factor, so choosing a location that is reasonably easy to get to will help. Depending on the date(s) you choose, count me in.

Austin DeLucia and I set one up in NC at Pinehurst last November and had 12 sign up with a 2 week lead time. We are planning a bigger one this November with more lead time and trying to make it a great location for a 2 day event. Details to come.

Drew...just wondering if you have made a decision about trying to put a MO event together? Let us know.

Hey Barry, I’m not really sure if there are enough people to get one going...especially in Kansas City. I am currently setting a tournament up at Gateway National with about 10-15 people. Still working on dates, but I don’t have any idea who to contact to make it an official Team Titleist thing.

Simplest way is to give the event a name and post the event info (date, location, # of spots, cost, etc...) either under the travel heading or clubhouse. To get the event listed under the "events" option on the main menu you should friend Mike D. or Rick V. and pass along all the event info to them also.

    Hope this helps.
  15. Depending on the date I would attend.
