I did not sign up because was told by the staff there, when I called about a riding cart before registering that they were not allowed on the courses we were to play. Read the other day that on any of the courses, with letter from doctor could use a cart.....a little late and definitely my loss...... =(

It will be my 7th trip in the past 7 years. Bumped my December 2020 trip out to December 2021 since we will be there in October. The hard part for me at the TTI will be just playing two courses. They are all so unique that you will want to play them all. My 2021 trip is December 8 - 13 in case some of you want to set up your own reservations to be out there at the same time.

I am registered but frankly I am not certain it will be a go for us travelling from north of the border. Border is still closed to all but essential travel, COVID is still a pretty high risk (on both sides of the border) and we would have to deal with a 14 day Quarantine when we return (if we could cross the border in the first place).

I have been waiting for an update - will it go as planned, will there be a delay per the TT International Event etc. but so far have not heard much. Will have to make a call pretty soon I suppose. Really (really!) want to play Bandon, but do not think (air) travel is worth the risk quite yet. We will see what the next few weeks bring but the trends are not very positive yet.

I am sure we will still have it but with some modifications to the social side of things. The smaller (30 people) event at Sand Valley two weeks earlier should be a good test as to how to handle diners, exhibitions, etc. Bandon successfully handled the large US Amateur event while other guests were still there playing the other courses. They know how to keep us safe and minimize the risk of exposure. Understand the boarder issue and that should probably be your “go/no-go” decision maker. I have flown twice and while a bit more difficult, did not feel more at risk than going to the gas station or grocery store each week. If you end up not going, hopefully we see you next year and we all have better days ahead.

I am like Chuck Z I was told it was walking courses only, so I did not try to sign up for it. Now with the Covid , I would be very leary of getting on a airplane unless it was absolute emergency. I hope everyone attending hsas a great time and play the best golf of their lives. Would love to see some TT regional events.

Alas, my buddy and I have been forced to withdraw. Can/US Border remains closed through November for personal travel and we would be looking at a 14 day quarantine/Self isolation when we return which will not work for either of us (or for our families). I am just gutted to miss this event but I know the next two folks on the wait list will be super happy so silver linings I suppose! Bandon was incredibly understanding and honored the full refund - just representative of the class act they are on all fronts.

To all I wish a safe and enjoyable event - it will be amazing I am certain. Bandon will have to remain an unfilled bucket list goal for a bit longer. Catch you all at the next one!

Fred C and I are still coming. We'll fly to San Jose and drive up from there, planning to play at least once on the way up. Looking forward to seeing everyone and seeing how Titleist and Bandon handle all the aspects of the event. Will be my first trip to Bandon. Am working to get my stamina up for all that walking.

Fred and Ted just have too much fun. They can make a TT Invitational into a wonderful vacation of playing golf for a week or so. You two are so much fun to be around and look forward to seeing you guys next year, wherever it may be in Hilton Head. Oh that was a hint, wasn't it....... my bad..... Cheers and everyone have a great time, have a tall cold one and nothing but fairways and greens......

Look forward to seeing you Fred, Ted, Kathy, and others (socially distanced but in person). Should be a great couple of days. Hoping most of the fires will be under control and we can play, smoke free. So excited to get on Sheep Ranch on my eighth trip to Bandon in eight years. See you guys in a few weeks!

    Wow, how time flies!!!

I am going, but was really hoping all of this would have passed by now. Anyway, I’ve not been on the TT site at all lately, changed companies, and been busy...

    @ pulplvr and Fred C:

Why are you driving from SJ instead of flying from SFO to OTH?

Just curious. I’m near SJ and can’t decide whether to fly or drive.

    Ben

    See y’all there!

I'll be there and can't wait. I played Bandon post COVID in May 2020 and they are very mindful of the safety protocols. I did miss the atmosphere at McKee's after a full day of wonderful golf. In May, they limited the number of diners during each seating and that put a damper on the normal buzz you would see and hear when the dinning room was full. I'm sure it will still be a great time and for those TT members going to Bandon for the first time, it's still mainly about the golf so that should not be different.

I will admit, sometimes McKees gets a little too loud. Hard to even have a conversation with guys at your own table so maybe limited seating has some benefits. I am sure we will be put in that meeting room across from McKees with some distance between tables or even forgo the full gathering. It will definitely be tough to visit amongst the team but hopefully we can all find a way to safely socialize a bit while there. So, everyone do your best to say hi. If you are looking for me, I will be the guy in the Titleist hat.

That might be a problem Dale...I'll be wearing a Titleist hat too ;-) I do agree with you regarding McKee's loudness. I thought it would be a nice experience for the first timers. I made my dinner reservations at McKee's, the Pacific Grill and The Gallery.

Reminder.... with 2 week's to go, this is the time that the occasional drop out opens a few last minute spots. Be sure you are on the wait list if you still want to get in and can handle short travel planning.

Also, I was reminded about a tip that I forgot to mention. Bandon caddies are great and if you can, use them. If you are not planning on using a caddie and don't carry a light weight bag, Bandon has these big wheeled pull carts available for rent. Used to be $5 but may have gone up this year. If you are thinking about using their pull carts, here is the tip. Bring a bungie cord long enough to wrap around your bag. Their pull carts just have a single strap up high so the bag has a tendency to bounce off the lower stand. Adding your cord to the bottom will keep it in place throughout the round. See you in a few weeks!
