    It's official: spring is right around the corner.

    Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow in front of thousands of spectators Friday morning at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, part of the annual Groundhog Day tradition celebrated in the U.S. and Canada. That means, according to the legend, we're in for an early spring.

    Has he ever been wrong? Hope you have been getting in shape and working on your game. Might be a long golf season this year. One can only hope. Cheers.

    Hi Chuck:

    I think Phil got into some of the hooch the guys who take him out of the bunker imbibe in before the ceremony. A few days after his prediction we had a foot of snow. Hoping that is the exception and not the rule.

    We actually had a few days in the 50s just before the snow though, so can't complain going to the range in February. I hope the weather in Charleston has been good.

    Shorts weather today, actually. Had 31 putts and shot a 88. Which is a good score for me, all considering. Snow is one of those four letter words, like work, you know. Be safe up there and wishing you an early spring. Phil must have gotten into some our famous moonshine. Hakuna matata.

    After 2+ feet of snow in January and a string of days under highs of 20, we’ve had bizarre weather in south Wisconsin for February. Multiple days in the 50’s including today and 2 more when seasonal is still around freezing. Multiple courses open this week. Ground thawed and dry. Phil was right here.
