Happy Friday everyone! I hope you got the tee times you wanted with the group you enjoy!

My question for the group is around grip cleaning. For years I would wipe my grips every few shots with a 'cleanish' wet towel, then every few rounds with dish soap at home.

I recently bought the Geko grip cleaner. I've cleaned them a few times so far, and I may be making it up in my head, but it seems to clean better than the Dawn or even just water. I'm curious if they start to break down faster, but these clubs are only a few weeks old. Time will tell.

What are your experiences with Geko or other similar products?

I also bought Geko, and I think it is an amazing product. I think it is better than ordinary soap and water. Just my opinion.

I "clean" mine every couple on months with a little dawn and warm water followed by a couple swipes od some fine grit sandpaper to rough them up just a bit. I game the GolfPride MCC alig grips so the sandpaper helps bring out the embedded cords in the grip.

I used to buy Lamkin "Gripes" (www.lamkingrips.com/.../), but they were discontinued several years ago.

I've picked up a couple other knockoffs over the last few seasons, but they've all been either A) not very durable and shred quickly or B) sold in crap "resealable" packaging and dried out quickly due to the lack of seal.

I've been relegated to the Dawn and water crowd every few rounds but don't really mind it too much. It buys me about 20 minutes of "me" time and keeps my grips and clubs looking and feeling fresh.

I haven't tried any specific grip cleaners. I wipe the grips down with one side of a wet towel and the clubheads with the opposite side of the towel after each round. I will check Geko out!

I use Dawn and the Caddy Splash brush. I used to use just a stiff brush with bristles on one side and wire brush on the other. But now, I can add Dawn and water to the Caddy Splash and go to town. I replace my grips every year so I never wear them out. I just make sure they’re clean before every round. For me, there’s no need to invest in other cleaners that cost more than a small bottle of Dawn.

Usually get use some warm soapy water and a brush and then scrub the grips all over thoroughly. Then get a towel and lightly dab it over the grip, then let them dry out.

This may be a dumb qusrion, but can water get rhrough the hole in the top of the grip when washing them? For years I have be putting a tee in the top as a precaution, but it may not be necessary and just a waste of time…

"Gripes" by Lamkin were great. Too bad they discontinued them. Keep them in a Ziploc bag, they last longer.
