Was so looking forward to hopefully make one of the TT events this year. When the Pinehurst showed up, my favorite golf destination, thought just might make my year, a two day event, it just might work. Three hour drive.

Had meeting this morniing with my neurosurgeon. Bad news. Good news. Will not be signing up for the Pinehurst event. Looks like I will be having back surgery (finally) on L4, L5, sometime in October. Excited, absolutely. Two hour procedure. Two days in hospital. Lots of PT, recovery, core development (again) and walking. Will have some some limited mobility, will NOT be able to walk and play golf, BUT will be able to play golf again, probably by late spring. All depends on how good of a patient I am. My wife went with me and told the surgeon, she assured him that I would follow doctor's orders. She has had back surgery and two knees replaced. Like 50 pounds of weight were lifted off my shoulders this morning. Have appointment with PC Physician on Oct 6th for surgery referral. In the meantime will play tomorrow and maybe a few more Wednesdays before the big day. = ) = ) = ) = ) = )

  2. Hope all goes well Chuck.

Hope all goes well Chuck. The good Lord meant for you to be on the course with a club in your hand, and you will be back. Just keep posting with updates and your usual knowledgeable insights. Make sure that surgeon is a golfer so he knows the expectations he's dealing with.

Best of luck Chuck. I had L4/5 surgery a few years back. Listen to the Physio and the Doc and you will be playing golf sooner than later.

Got to agree with your bad news/good news assessment, Chuck. Be a good patient, as well as being very patient with the entire process. I know it sounds like a long haul, but I'm sure that both you and Connye think it's time and it's all for the best. Look forward to seeing you on the course again in the future..

Best wishes for a successful procedure and full and speedy recovery Chuck.

Follow the doctor's orders, especially for PT and all should go well.

Looking forward to seeing your posts along the way of this "journey" of yours.
