The wife and I are looking at heading to San Diego in May. She golfs too and just received her first SC putter from SC in the North Pole. Looking for course recommendations and obviously any advice about the Scotty Gallery store.

    Military
Maderas and Torrey Pines for a challenge.

Aviara has nice views, usually in good condition and close to SC Gallery.

Coronado has water views and an easy walk, good chow places in area post round, check out Hotel Del.

Arrowood is a good challenge, hosted The Dale for a few years.

Goat Hill is a goat track with a lot of history.

I loved Goat Hill. Agree that it's not the best course you'll ever play, but the experience is well worth it. It has such a laid back, chill vibe. I was lucky that I got paired up with a couple of locals that played there all the time. They made it that much more enjoyable. I really had a great time and it was fun to just hang out afterward, have a beer and watch other golfers. Torrey for me is a must play if I ever make it back.

San Vicente...Great Course and recently renovated.
Encinitas Ranch ...EZ Ranch to the Locals...Good Location with many food and beverage options close by.
SC Gallery is cool...Just go and enjoy...NO PHOTOS in Gallery.

    Cheers,

If you decide to visit the SC Gallery in Encinitas, make sure and allot some time for the visit. There could be a wait to get in depending on how busy they are. Unless you have an appointment, you need to get on a waitlist before being allowed in. You might have a better chance of not waiting too long to get in if you get there right when they open...don't be surprised if there's a line

If you want to do a fitting, you’ll need to schedule well in advance. It has been a few years since I was there did they move the fittings to a second location??
I don’t remember a lot of merchandise. The head covers were almost all for blades and I use a mallet. Not a lot of putters on display, and I’m not sure there was a LH option. So I walked away with just a coffee mug.
Hopefully someone can respond with a more recent trip and a little more of a positive experience.
I do have a black mallet head cover for a RH putter. Not for sale here, but can barter offline. I was trying RH for a while.
