  1. Any body have any recommendations on must play courses in the Palm Desert area? I'm headed there after Christmas for a week and hoping to get my shorts back out and play a little golf.

    Thanks

They are all good, although peak season is now so courses might be a bit crowded and pricey. We usually it them at the beginning and end of summer when it is so hot no one else will play. It's really cheap then. My favorite is La Quinta Mountain and PGA West Stadium. Indian Wells Celebrity is fun to play too. Classic Club is very good as is Desert Willow. Heck, any you play will be fantastic.

Dale is right on track with his recommendations!!!
My Favorites PGA West Stadium...Classic Club...Indian Wells Players & Celebrity...La Quinta Mountain.
If you want to look at Tukwet Canyon it's a nice 36 hole facility just up the 10 from PSP.

All the courses will be in mint condition!!!

Dale is correct with the ones that he listed for sure. A few others are The Palms and Little Big Horn.

All great courses and nice views of the mountains from each of them

Was there for a short period of time and spent a great day at PGA West....played with some locals and had a great day....
  6. Thank you all for the recommendations, I'll definitely try a couple of those.
  7. If not too late, we played Indian Canyons South Course (one of the original courses in the valley) years ago. It was quite enjoyable and picturesque.

Hope you are having a good time!
  8. Thank you all for the recommendations, I was able to play Pga West stadium, laquinta dune and desert falls. It was a great trip although a little cooler than I would have liked. I would have to say laquinta mountain and classic club are on my list for next time.
Pga west was my favorite this trip, it was really fun and challenging.

You will really like La Quinta Mountain when you go back. Quite a few holes play right up next to the mountains. You can even occasionally see some desert bighorn sheep on the course. Hopefully you stayed away from that deep bunker at PGA West Stadium #16. Glad you enjoyed the trip, even with our wet, cool spell. It was 29 degrees this morning at my house in Escondido.

    Tim-
    Glad Palm Springs was good!
I would have to say the best time during winter for getting out to the desert is late February and March.
Really need to plan me a day trip out to the desert for some golf... Dale are you interested?

    Cheers,
    Dr. K
