Scottsdale 2019 is booked....I was finally able to make the last tee time a couple of weeks ago.

Wed- Raven Golf Club Thurs- Troon North (both courses) Fri- Dinosaur Mountain Sat- WM Open Sun- Papago

I tried to get on at WeKoPa, but they were already booked up.....even though I called before their booking window even began. In any case, I'm looking forward to a few days of desert golf for my 40th birthday.

Seriously, you have to give Quintero a try. Definitely one on the best courses Ive played! They have the best group of par3's I've played...

I wanted to play Quintero, but it just didn't fit into the timeline for this trip. It'll stay on the list for next time around!

I'd plan my entire trip around Quintero. I've traveled to Scottsdale and played We-Ko-Pa, Troon North, Grayhawk, TPC, and others several times over the last year. Quintero is the only must play every trip. It's worth fitting into your schedule and pulling an audible.
  9. I will be out for the WM as well .... the papago course will be really special since it is the new ASU Team Golf Course!

That's what I've heard. Someone else suggested that we play ASU Karsten, but I've read TERRIBLE reviews (all from 2018). I guess once they "lost" the ASU golf team, they let the course go to crap, which is sad to hear.

It's in pretty good shape, and it's a Pete Dye course. I would say that it's pretty challenging, more then most people would think because of the designer and also that it was a college course, so they needed to make it challenging and fun. So I would say try and give it a try if you can before it goes away.

Well ASU Karsten lost the golf teams because they are pushing them out because they are trying to sell the land to build more stuff. So the team went to Papago golf course and they have done some major renovations to that course and to the playing experience.

I was not a fan of ASU Karsten. I've only played it once and it was in 2018, but it was in terrible condition.

This is what I'm referring to. All of the 2018 reviews that I read said the same thing- it was in terrible shape.

Scottsdale 2019 is in the books. WOW, what a great time! Got to play 5 rounds in 4 days, and caught the WM Phoenix Open on Saturday. The tournament is and absolute sh!t show....it's like Spring Break with a golf tournament going on during the party.

We played Raven Golf Club Phoenix, Troon North (Monument AND Pinnacle) Gold Canyon (Dinosaur Mountain) and Papago. The two Troon courses were definitely the most "plush." The place was immmaculate, and I felt like I was a Chick-Fil-A all day with their "How can I help you, sir? Can I get you anything else, sir? My pleasure, sir." attitudes. As for the views, Dinosaur Mountain was amazing. The elevation changes and views were spectacular there. As for Raven and Papago, they were also good- no real complaints with either of them. Their "wow factors" were just not as good as the others.

All in all, it was a great trip. The entire group had a great time, and I definitely appreciate my friends ponying up the $$$ to help me celebrate my 40th Birthday.

    Thanks for the recommendations, everyone.
