A lot of public options in the Charlotte area. If you do a search for Charlotte NC golf courses click on charlotteagenda .com. They have their list of the top ten with good descriptions, rates, and how to get there.
  3. All depends where you'll be living and how far you're willing to travel. Pinehurst is two hours away and there has to be 40 to 50 good courses within an hour of Charlotte. Also, how much are you willing to pay? There are good to very good courses for $30-$40 and you could spend over $100 for a big name. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you're here for 4 months you've got plenty of time to try a bunch of different ones.
  4. I was in Charlotte for a long weekend during the 2019 Masters. Nearly rained out the entire weekend but we managed to sneak in 18 on Sunday at the Club at Ballantyne. Considering all of the rain that had come down this course was in pretty decent shape and I would definitely go play it again. There are a lot of public options and they all seem to be reasonably priced. Nice TopGolf location nearby, too.

Tot Hill in Asheboro, NC is a nice course. in 2007, golf digest ranked it the 7th hardest course in the country. careful of the snakes on the course thou.

I live in NW Charlotte and most of my rounds are played in the Pinehurst area. the 2 hour drive is worth it for me to play better courses. Plus it gets me out of Charlotte for a day.

I go down to Lake Norman (Mooresville, NC.) every year for the 4th of July (Family) we don’t play too fancy of tracks down there but I enjoy playing at Warrior (In between Mooresville/China Grove) and Ive played at Verdict Ridge (Denver, NC.) once.
