  1. Every year about this time I state that I will take this season seriously, get some lessons, learn my distances etc etc etc.

Because of a back injury I haven't played since July last year, so to start with will be happy just to hit the ball, then if I hit it forward that's a bonus and if it travels a bit that an added Brucie :)

Sitting on my laptop now and thinking I should really get in the van, get the clubs out and dust them off and hit a few range balls.

    Wish me luck guys.....

Come on buddy, you’ve got this!
    Think positive, be positive.
This is the season you make your big come back!!
  6. Fire up that van - you obviously want to get back into swing - go carefully but at least go for it!!

Swing well, Enjoy and remember have fun.

I always think a little weekly wedge challenge around a chipping green gets the mind working. Maybe grab a friend and just hit little wedge shots and play nearest to the pin, your be amazed how quick and sharpe your short game becomes. So dust them clubs down and get chipping pal. Have fun!
  9. Get out there mate, recently started playing again myself and loving it.
  10. Van was fired up, lesson had, first game booked (hopefully), its booked on the 24th but we may be moving house on the 22nd :)

    Good luck with it all...
  12. So...the 24th had to be cancelled as we moved house a few days earlier, whilst moving I did my back in again, was getting better and booked a game or two, had to cancel those due to work commitments, back has gone again so still haven't played since July last year. :(

Hoping to get out before the end of April though....

Take care of that back! I had an enforced year out of the game following a disc prolapse and couldn’t wait to get back playing.
Taking the initial plunge and starting back was difficult but I went with little expectations and worked up from putting to full swing. Broke 80 on my first full 18!
  14. Hope the back gets better soonest, try swinging the club in the garden for a few minutes at a time to slowly get the swing back in the groove before hitting the course
  15. Still haven't played since June last year due mainly to my bad back and moving house, and of course other commitments. BUT booked in for three round on Friday, Sunday and Monday this week, fingers crossed I can get at least one of those rounds in.

  17. I had to spend 6 months chipping balls after my last surgery, so I know how you feel. But it was the best thing I ever did.
Get out and play because one day it will be your last game. Enjoy every shot.

Good health and fitness to enjoy our pursuits is something we take for granted, I'm sorry to hear your back has gone again, I suffered with my back a while ago and found physio, stretching exercises and warming up before a game has paid dividends.
Hope you have a speedy recovery and you return to a fitness level and able to achieve your ambitions for this year.

    Good luck!!!

I get periodic back pain and that’s bad enough so good luck to you and I hope you get to play again soon!
  20. Went out yesterday for the first time, played OK for me, a couple of pars and a couple of 10's :) But overall was great to be back.

This morning however I'm laid up on the bed with a bad back again, looks like I may have just played my last round of golf ever.

Have you guys got back playing after a serious injury, I want to play again but right at this moment it seems impossible.
