2009 Spin-Milled Vokey wedges are getting harder and harder to find in new or virtually new condition. I had been replacing my wedges with the 2009 version every year until this past when I couldn't find anymore for a decent price. Some crazies were trying to get $250 or more for new 2009 spin milled versions, since the supply has dwindled to practically nothing. I decided I finally had to switch over to the new grooves and give up on the 2009 model.

The new SM6s are getting rave reviews on Tour, so I am going to change to them next month when they are released. I have actually waited longer than I should have to change my wedges, just for them to finally be released, before giving up on my now nearly 2-year-old 2009 version Vokeys. I should have probably bought a set of SM5s last year just to use while I waited for these new SM6s to be released. Not being a long hitter, wedges are a huge part of my game. I play and practice a lot and use up my wedges up usually within a year. But I waited two years for the SM6s and probably lost a couple strokes along the way by doing so.

I am hopeful, now after speaking with some who have already seen these new SM6s, as well as all the press and reviews I have read, that I will be more than satisfied with my new SM6s next month when I finally get fit and get them in hand. I expect that losing the old square grooves of the 2009 versions will hardly be noticed and that my overall wedge game transition to the SM6s will be seamless.

Is the 56/14 a F or S Grind?

Hi David H, the SM2 56.14 had an F grind. The SM5 56.14F or new SM6 56.14F will be a very compatible choice to what you are currently playing.
