  1. Curious I am a 28 yr old 5 handicap I swing pretty hard but have been very curious about trying graphite shafts in my wedges. Does anyone have any advice or have tried this?

Bryson uses only graphite shafts instead of steel. Ther are likely graphite shafts that would work for you.

Among amateurs, even those with graphite irons will prefer a steel shaft, especially for wedge primarily for partial shots.

Choices tend to be subjective. Is there a specific need for you to ask this question?
  3. I think you just have to have one built and try it out.

I put Graphite Design shafts in all my iron and wedges. Very happy with the decision. I will however recommend that you get fitted for the shafts and make a decision from there.

My first question would be what are you looking to get out of them, for what reason? Let us know that and we might be able to give you some better answers.

I've been using 70g graphite on my hybrids for almost 6 years now. 75g graphite S on the 34H.

I'm using NSPro950/GH S on my 620CB 8 iron and Wedgeworks 44F. My other wedges are DG Wedgeflex. I actually like the heavier clubs for the other wedges.

The thing to consider with a graphite iron shaft vs steel is swingweight. History has had me playing irons 1/2" short with DG R300 and S300 and I played a D3 swing weight using an Excel RF oversize. My 8 iron and 44F are standard length (1/2* upright) and they come in at D3 with the NSPro shafts. For every 10g of shaft weight there is a change of 1 swing weight. Most play the Lamkin grips or equivalent and the grip weight is 52g for standard. The Winn Excel RF oversized is 43g. 2 swingweight point difference.

I'm considering 105g steel for the 50* loft because I do more full swings. It's doing fine as is.

I demoed some but stuck with steel. The irons peaked my interest, but for some reason I just like the feel of steel in my wedges. Right now I have KBS Tour Lite in my irons and Pro Modus 105 in my wedges. Doesn't really mean much as I am considered an oddball by pretty much everyone who knows me, and that consideration runs beyond my golf game.
If you play a lot of golf, you're going to be replacing your wedges more than your irons so maybe, short of getting a fitting, get one with the graphite shaft and try it out.
