Titleist Tips: Whip It for More Driver Speed

Titleist Brand Ambassador Max Homa won the long drive competition, an annual practice round tradition at the PGA Championship, with a 318-yard bomb on No. 16 at Bethpage Black. Max generates amazing clubhead speed with his TS4 driver that translates into some serious ball speed for his Pro V1 and if you watch his action (check out Max’s Instagram post below) he seems to whip the club through impact.

We wanted to know how big hitters like Max achieve this, so we reached out to Titleist staff member Jonathan Yarwood, who shows how an earlier change in direction, along with a lightening of grip pressure during transition, will help you to sling the driver with more speed, just like the pros.
