Just curious as to what you TT members do during the winter months.
I for one am not going on a vacation this year so I will be hitting the simulators. I am thinking about joining a men's league. There are some things I need to work on in my swing and I'll probably do that in the sim.
Our course has set up an in-door academy to give us an opportunity to work on our swing through the winter. It is only $400 for the season and we book tee times on-line as if we would book during the summer. This year I am working on fine tuning my new swing and reducing the number of occasional pull shots that have developed with my re-build from the summer. Apart from that I will also spend time in my basement on the putting mat to hone the stroke. My biggest issue with putting has been inconsistent centre putter face contact. I have found an adjustment (with some assistance) and need to groove that so it is natural when I get out on the links next spring.
Here on the west coast, we are fortunate enough to have quite a few good days to still get out to a heated range or even a golf course as there are quite a few still open. We do have frost delays and some days are very much in the single digits for temperature, and you keep your Prov!'s in your pocket, but it's still golf! I myself will try to get some lessons in and practice more so that hopefully come summer I am ready to shoot lower scores, especially with that new #2019proto ball!
Weather was better than expected, it made it up to 14. One brief shower on the 4th hole, and then sunshine. Small amount of ground water on the 1st fairway, otherwise dry as toast. Greens were rolled. Made bogey on 18 to shoot 80. Awesome.
Pretty much work on the putting stroke indoors over the winter. I'll get out on the course if we have a sunny day with temps in the upper 40s. I played one New Years Day a few years back when temps reached 70 degrees so I'm always a weather watcher.
