    Hey Team Titleist! 

    It's truly the most wonderful time of year: #2019Proto season. Yesterday, I took the 2019 Prototypes (black) out for the first time and figured I would start a discussion forum to collect all of our thoughts throughout this process. For reference, I currently play AVX golf balls and I played a course that I frequent on the weekends (shoutout Triggs!).

    Off the tee: It was pretty hot with a light feeling off the tee. My flight was a bit higher than I'm used to, but my distance was similar. I also felt a bit of forgiveness with my mishits - nothing was out of play. 

    Long irons/fairway metals: This is where my flight was definitely higher into the greens, making it easier for the ball to avoid rollout. 

    Short game: I ended up in a few greenside bunkers yesterday and my shots out were getting check that I absolutely loved. I tend to run off the green with my bunker game, so it was fun to see that check and stop. 

    Putting: Soft feel

    I play the AVX from the day it came out in Florida. Testing it on trackman vs prov1 and not enough difference to switch so am interested in testing a sleeve of new black on trackman. Never have received a sleeve before so odds are I am due.

    The last prototype golf balls I received was two years ago. Hope to receive more this year. I’m an avid Pro V1 player however this year I tried the new AVX ball and was impressed. Hope to receive my test golf balls soon.

    Me TOO! I enjoyed the opportunity to "be the first" to try the new creations and as a high handicapper and an "old guy" it is a pleasure to hit a golf ball that actually makes me feel good and play better too. As a TRUE-SOFT guy, I have converted many of my friends and playing partners
    to a ball that feels good with contact not withstanding the excellent feel on the greens!
    Come on Titleist, we are your ambassadors and if you don't already know ... "Old Guys Rule"!!

    I'm still waiting for some to come I have received some in the past but not in the last few years. Would love to test some out if possible. I have been a loyal customer for about 15 years. I have had 4 hole in one with them. Thanks if I do or not I'll still will stay loyal.

    I have not received any either. Once I received a email saying I was going to receive some but the following day I received another email saying they sent that email to the wrong person. Damn almost!

    Any chance I can be added to the list. I want to move back to the ProV’s but am currently using TP5x’s as I like the click off the putter better. I’d like to try them and change my mind for next season.

    I played the pro v1 prototype ball today. Loved the feel of the ball when hitting mid irons and short irons. Wonderful around the green. Drives had less spin, therefore more roll on the fairway. Ball is very durable. Played with just one ball for the full eighteen holes. Not a mark on it. Will be able to use it tomorrow. The ball is the bomb!

    Hello Team,

    I have yet to receive any of the new #2019Proto golf balls to test and provide feedback. Actually, it's been a couple years since I participated in testing the Pro V1 golf balls during the shooting of the Pro V1 golf ball commercial at the Wollaston Country Club in Milton, MA. I've yet to demo any of the new golf clubs (irons, woods, wedges, or drivers).

    Please let me know if I need to do anything to get back on the list for testing. Thank you.

    Golf makes life worth while when the game brings, strangers, friends, and family together to enjoy painting on the natural green canvases around the country using our golf balls and clubs as our paint and brush strokes hoping as we do, that each round would a perfect work of art, as we use our final score or round as proof of the time and effort of our practice. Thank you Titleist for providing me with the best paint (Pro V1 golf balls) and the finest paint brushes (golf clubs and drivers).

    No unfortunately not. That would be a tremendous amount of mailings that Titleist would have to do. I'm sure there is a method to their madness

    I was lucky enough to get a few and have to agree with everything you've said. The feel is amazing on all the clubs but thing that stood out the most was the durability. Couldn't believe how well the ball looked after a full round of golf. Hope to get more details on what they did differently this time around.

    If you don't mind me asking Abby, which color ball did you play with? black or red? If you played both, could you tell the difference?

    I have been a TT ball tester for years.
    Currently in Florida so would love to test again for you real soon.
    I am from the Midwest so when I received balls in the past our cold winter weather
    was always an obstacle to be able to get out in a timely manner after receiving the
    balls. By the time we could get out with open courses & decent weather your “test
    season” was over.
    If you will please send me prototype balls ASAP down here in Sebring I will be
    happy to give Titleist our winter address.

    Hi there Abby,
    Thanks for sharing this interesting article.
    I've seen the new #2019Proto 's on tour all ready but never had the experience to try them ourselves.

    Do you have any idea if Team Titleist members in the Netherlands can possible receive a box to try out?
    I would love to participate in the test fase and give an honest and real feedback. I would even pay for the shipping if needed.

    yeah I think they are leaving out us Cally people this time but I still love the pro v1 from last year

    Thanks Abby. The black and red Prototypes may be the Pro V1 and Pro V1x. If I receive the white box you can be sure to hear my observations. The number one ball in golf!

    Just received 3 of the black balls putted with them nice soft feel hit a few chips and they also felt great will hopefully try them on the course tomorrow and get back with some results. I play pro V-1 balls now and they feel comparable to what I have but its great to be part of a test group. Thanks Abby.

    Fingers crossed that some show up in my mailbox before the snow flies.

    Hoping this new edition will launch a bit higher, but keep the distance. Plus, stopping on a dime into the green. Based on Abby's report, we just might be getting those offerings with the new ones. Can't wait!

    I just received a sleeve in the mail. Unfortunately, the weather is not quite cooperating. AZ has been getting a lot of rain. I will test them within a week and will give an objective report.

    I Got a box of the proto19 golf balls, Currently I'm not sure what to think (In a good way) They're softer In my opinion then the AVX (my main ball) But spin a bit less. But now that I really think about this I give them 10/10 Love my prototype golf balls!

    Played one last weekend (local professional gave me one of his). Hot off the tee, feels like the current ProV1, and perfectly predictable on approaches and around the green.

    What amazes me most, however, is the durability. I played nine holes with the new ball, including a couple of full wedge shots with SM7s, and there wasn't a single visible mark or scratch on the cover.

    Fingers crossed for a sleeve in the mail, so I can provide more extensive feedback after a couple of rounds.

    Still, I can already tell: Titleist nailed it again. No surprise.

    I received a sleeve of each of the black numbered and red numbered and I currently play the Pro VX. Both the black and the red played very well, both were firmer feel than current Pro V and Pro VX. To me, differences in the protos vs current versions in distance and spin were miniscule and durability was very good to excellent (determined after a wayward hit and watching it bounce down a cart path). The black numbered proto had that "click" back on a well struck shot.

    My guess is that the black numbered proto would be the new Pro V and the red numbered proto would be the new Pro VX.

    Full testing was a bit delayed due to an early VT October snowstorm which closed our course, and was followed up with temps in the high 30’s with a biting wind.
    Took advantage of the 65 degree weather and rain yesterday to play the #2019Proto side by side with 2017 prov1x hitting identical shots over the full round.
    In every case the #2019Proto was longer, softer, straighter and had greater control on both full and partial shots into the green. This was something I had observed before the snowstorm and early arrival of winter.
    I also noticed a distinctive higher frequency, almost metallic sound on drives that were well struck, compared to the solid “thunk” I got with the 2017 edition.
    When putting, I heard I very noticeable “click” on well struck putts.
    Both of these sounds provided valuable feedback.
    Will be stocking up on these when loyalty rewarded time comes around.
