I received the test sleeve a few weeks aqo and couldn't wait to try the Tour Speed. A little background in order tho' and maybe Titleist won't be happy that I got the sleeve, since I'm still working my way back into the game after back surgery last fall, plus I'm a high handicapper and 65 YO. That said, I've been taking playing lessons (6 - 9 holes each time) with a pro almost every week and a couple Sundays ago we put this to the test. I've been playing Chrome Soft pre-surgery, then whatever I had in the bag for these lessons.

Definitely noticed the softer feel off the driver on the first tee. This went about 5 yards farther than the Tour Soft and 10 - 15 yards farther than the cally we tested it against. That feel stayed with it thru the irons and fairway woods as well on subsequent holes. We ditched the cally after the 2nd hole. The other thing we noticed was the Tour Speed generally had a higher trajectory than the other balls.

Into and around the greens the ball performed well too. I've got a decent short game but generally don't hit it hard enough to generate a lot of spin, so didn't get a lot of "hit and stick"...but that's me, not the ball. That said, this ball didn't run away on the greens. It's definitely a good fit for me and I will be buying a dozen or two today for my round coming up on Monday.

First, thank you Titleist for giving me the opportunity to test the new Tour Speed balls. For reference, I am 50 years old with a 10 handicap and swing speed around 105. Although I played Pro v1's at one time, I had moved to AVX since launch and played them until I had the chance to try the EXP-01 in late 2019. I liked that ball more because for me it seems to spin less off the driver and still had a really nice feel and I could stop it well. When the Tour Speed balls arrived I had to look closely as I initially thought they may be the ball into which the EXP-01 evolved. They do look and feel similar.

I tested the AVX and EXP-01 against the Tour Speed in a series of short game and putting exercises and later played 2 full rounds with the Tour Speed (fortunately only lost one ball).

Driver: Tour Speed had a nice sound and feel off the driver. Very similar results in terms of launch and distance to EXP-01. AVX seemed a little longer for me but again I also seemed to lose some control in terms of staying in the fairways.

Irons: No noticeable difference for me. Again, AVX may be a little longer.

Wedges: The Tour Speed was my least favorite from 100 yards out or less. I actually like the AVX best in this area due to getting more spin/movement than the EXP-01 or Tour Speed. The EXP-01 seems a little softer and has a better feel off the club for me than Tour Speed. Both balls stop as needed. Personally, I like the feel of the EXP-01 a little better than the Tour Speed off low irons/wedges.

Putter: The Tour Speed appears to me to be a little firmer off the putter face and again I would choose the EXP-01 or the AVX for putting. This may be my bias from playing the EXP-01 for the past 9 months and knowing what to expect in terms of feel.

Overall, for someone of my skill level, there may not be a large noticeable difference in performance here. For me, it comes down to what feels best and what performs best despite my inconsistencies, which I still believe is the EXP-01. I really liked the Tour Speed and think it's a great addition to your mid-level line of balls. Thanks again for the chance to share my experiences.

Really enjoyed the opportunity to test this ball. Finally got a chance to do that today, and it’s safe to safe this could EASILY stay in my bag.

The ball seemed to carry a pretty high trajectory for me, which I could definitely use (not an AVX guy). Ball supported great flight off the tee and from the fairway. However, I found this ball for my short game best.

I was really impressed from 70-in. Attached is a shot from 70 yards out with a sand wedge. It just got where it needed to and stopped. Really impressive.

On the greens, the ball felt soft. I putted pretty well today, and I will say I am a huge fan of the alignment aid on this ball. Substantial enough in size, and definitely serves the purpose.

Tournament next week, it looks like I need to go shopping. At this rate, you should too!

    Thanks for the opportunity.

Finally got out to use the new balls, very much liked the feel off my irons. Trajectory was on point with my normal flight was outstanding. Especially the 100-125 yard shot was able to control that shot as needed.

Chipping and pitching felt as though I wasn’t getting the level of spin or roll out that I receive with my regular ball, that could have also been an issue with me. Overall I felt they are soft, penetrating, accurate balls that I would recommend to others. Typical Titleist product.

Overall it is a very good golfball, I would say it is one of my favorite offering from any brand in this price range.

Distance was good, very crisp off the driver. Spin off the driver was great.

Spin was also good on irons, was able to get the one hop stop, I am a bit of a higher spin player so the slight reduction in spin was a plus.

Feel is good although a little bit crispy if you will.

Great ball, would be an excellent option to a tour ball at a better price.

I bought a dozen because I couldn't find sleeves to purchase in my area. - so I was hoping I would like them a lot!

Well I have not been disappointed - in fact I'm starting to believe this might be the right ball for a 58 year old with mid 90s driver swing speed.

A long time Pro V1 player with a 5.1 index, this ball maybe my new gamer. It was long off the tee, had a great trajectory for the window I like, stopped on all full iron shots within two club lengths and feels great too off all clubs. The durability was real good too for 36 holes.

Thank you Titleist for continually putting out the best products golf season after golf season.

I appreciate the chance to try these out. I used them in a scramble and was very happy with the distance. It seemed like the carry distance was longer than usual on a ProV1 or BStone e12 that I’ve been playing. The flight also seemed a little lower than normal which is great because i generally have a high flight. It felt great off the putter and rolled true. The feel was a little more firm off the putter but not like a marble that some of the lower end distance balls.

Overall I was very happy with the performance of the ball.

I guess I have to like the ball. The first one I took out of the sleeve I shot a 74 (one under my age). What's not to like??

Normally I use Pro V1s but for the past few months, I've been using Tour Soft that a friend gave me. The Tour Speed feels much livelier off the club. It may be a bit longer, too, but that is hard to confirm since I recently bought new clubs. Stopping on the green is okay, but I think I get a little more action from the Pro V1s. But all in all, the Tour Speed ball is a nice addition to the line and I will likely buy a box or two to give it a fairer test.

Thanks for the opportunity to try a new ball.
  9. 7 handicap. I found distance and spin near as good as proV1. However, durability very poor. It scuffed badly just landing in a country club sand trap. Keep working on the cover titleist because these aren’t any better than exp01 as far as cover scuffs.

I ordered 2 dozen to test out and have not noticed anything much different than the AVX. However, the Tour Speed ball does seem to bite a good deal better. Our greens are firm hybrid Burmuda grass (Tiff Eagle) and the Tour Speed ball held them just fine over 4 rounds with no loss of distance compared to the AVX. The Tour Speed wil lbe my new ball, once I use up my stock of AVX balls.
  11. Thank you for the test sleeve. Tour Speed was too soft for me. I use a Snell MTB-x and that is very firm in comparison. I’m waiting for the next generation of ProV1’s or x’s to test as that could move me off the MTB-x. I love that you let us test golf balls prior to release.

Thanks for the opportunity to test these golf balls. Last ball I tested for you I got (2) holes in one in the same week, so had some high expectations...
I played three rounds, in different weather on three different courses. I feel I got a good idea on the ball.
Distance was a plus. added some yards to all my shots. felt like ball flew true and straight. made the adjustment for the distance addition.
Felt great coming off all clubs, driver was solid and feel like my iron shots felt more on the button.
I really liked the feel on the greens, chipping and putting. Chips gave me great control, but putting was solid and a confidence builder. made several long putts. Not been the case lately.
In summation Tour speed is a great ball. Looking forward to playing more golf with these balls.
BTW, no HIO with this batch. Maybe next time...
  13. Hi there buds I said I wasn’t the type of player to tell you guys how good or bad the new tour speed ball is So I gave a friend a ball for him to try ( he is a scratch golfer ) he loved it said it will be the one in his bag now Want to know how I got one before him ( lucky I was - lol) He said it played very well soft feel and seem to travel a bit farther then his pro vl Said it was great on the dance floor I hope this will be of some help

  14. This will be my ball of choice in competitions, You can really nail approach and short game shots However putting is were I find the ball performs well
    Regards Tony
  15. For years I've been stuck on cally Chrome Soft despite trying all sorts including Pro V1 of course. But each time I have gone back to Chrome Soft. But now I have something better in the Tour Speed. I received my demo sleeve and started using them straight away. Great soft feel around the greens which is most important to me and very good distance.
So thanks for including me in the test. Can I have some more please!!??

I think I'm a believer. Played AVX and ProV1 this summer and ended up sticking with the ProV1 MOSTLY b/c of the soft feel and spins around the green although I can't spin. But anyways, a buddy of mine gave me one Tour Speed ball to try out. I've played with the ball now for about 2-3 rounds and I've been VERY impressed. Great distance, seems to be less spin for me, soft like the ProV1 and so far no issues around the greens with this ball. And the quality of the ball seems great after a few rounds. I'll definitely pick up a dozen and give these a go, I'm enjoying them so far.

I received my sleeve of Tour Speed balls from TT and took them straight to the practice green. My immediate observation was the softness of the cover. The best way to describe the feel was “rubbery.” On chip shots the ball seemed to ride up the face resulting in a higher trajectory than the ball I play. For the same reason (softness), on putts allowed me to get the ball rolling sooner off the face with very little skid. I then went to the driver. I set up the TrackMan to get the carry, trajectory and ball speed numbers for cally Chrome Soft, ProV1 and the Tour Speed. I hit around 20 balls rotating between the three and didn’t find a significant difference in speed, carry or trajectory. (The sound coming off the face was distinctly different on the Tour Speed). I’ve since played a few rounds with it and feel that it’s a good ball.(I’m not a fan of the alignment arrow as it’s just a little bit big for my liking). Overall I give it high marks but not enough to change for me.

I have now changed from Pro V1x’s to Tour Speed as that suit my game better giving me more distance and control around the green. I love the alignment marking as well

First round today trying out the new Tour Speed. My preferred ball is the ProV1X. Found the ball travelled longer and still had good control on the greens!!!

Will certainly be using these during the winter months instead on the Tour Soft.

Would highly recommend trying the ball out ️‍♂️

  20. I like the feel.
    I like the distance.
Seems to be a tighter flight.
Off the putter was ok, not great.
My irons carved the ball. The skin is terrible on this ball. One iron shot into the green and it looked like I hit a cart path.
I played 4 practice holes and two out of the three balls I had to park. If this is the norm they end up being more expensive.
    I'm a 10 index and play a V1x.
