Daniel LKenilworth,
Don't necessarily pick your grips purely on the popularity it has on tour. Sure, tour validation means it's a grip thats tried and tested but remember for guys on tour durability is not an issue as they can have their grips changed as often as they like. This is especially important for softer grips such as the Tour Velvet or Lamkin Crossline. As an unsupported amateur playing regular college Div 1 golf l use multicompunds on irons and woods as they perform very well in a variety of conditions and washing in soapy water every week or so they scrub up almost good as new. With my wedges l like a slightly softer grip in the Lamkin UTx, whilst it's pretty expensive l think its worth the money. However, the crossline and tour velvet grips are both less that half the cost of the grips l use so l guess you could change them more regularly if you liked them. Just my opinion.

I definitely prefer GP Multi-Compound midsize. I install them with about three extra wraps under the bottom hand to take a little bit of taper out of the grips .

Love the golf pride tour wrap. Have had them in white and red on my last two generations of clubs. Winn are very soft and wear out too quickly for me. The tour velvet are also great but have worn quickly for me.

I love the Golf Pride Multi-Compound. I switched from black and white to black and red so that it matches my Titleist Staff Bag. I use 3 wraps to help keep my wrists from being over active in my swing.

Love the Lamkin Crossline. Just the right amount of tackiness, texture, and handles moisture well. Comes in midsize as well, which works for me.

I myself am in a grip funk. Keep going back and forth with different grips. I know have different grips for my driver and irons. I wish I could find something that makes me feel "walaa."
