I made a post about this as well. Insanely skeptical and disappointing. I would rather not cancel my order because the performance of the 200s outweighed everything by a longshot but why spend $1,200 on a set of irons that are going to look like thrift store clubs after half a season... I get chirped enough by friends on the course lol

Almost bought T200 until I tapped the back. No thanks went for the T100s

Looks like Titleist have to look into the future of the T200 design. What with the cut finger issue on the 2019 version and now the muscle back in the 2021 version. Hopefully Titleist will start to listen to all of us that spend thousands of pounds on their equipment.

Not good. T200 backplate finished marred on first trip even with a towel wrap around irons and a Club Glove travel case.

Titleist did put thought into them. Poor thought. More than likely a polycarbonate plate with brittle lacquer.
Reminded me of the carbon fiber of old boats and cars. When dinged up or cracked is unfixable.
For Pete sakes just why didn’t they consider a slightly larger version of the T100’s with the 100S loft for the vast majority of us mediocre enthusiasts.

Ordered a set of t200 for my son. He loved them at fitting. Performance, feel, and looks. Are iron head covers the only way to keep them looking good? I’ve seen some say it’s a problem and others say it isn’t. What are the players doing to keep their clubs look good?

Update: I updated my situation on another thread here at Team Titleist but thought to repeat it here for those that did not see it. Titleist offered to re-head my T200 irons; however, I was concerned that the same current marring would occur again, as others on this thread have feared. I countered their offer with a request to re-head with T100S. Titleist agreed and I shipped the clubs back to Carlsbad yesterday. They predict a 3 to 4 weeks turnaround. Happy that I retained my original 2019 T200s to use while waiting for the T100S irons to arrive. Thank you, Titleist. Great product support!

Any 2021 T200 owners using iron covers to protect their clubs?

Yes, I use iron covers to protect my 2021 T200's. An old set of Club Glove iron covers. I have lost a couple, but, they get the job done.

Needing iron covers is just a bandage for bad manufacturing choice.

Why is there so much hate to using iron covers? I put a set on to my AP3's when I bought them a few years back now for precisely the reason that I didn't want them getting dinged and scratched up from rattling in the bag around the course or in the car between games.

I dare say that most people have insurance for their car or house and yet you don't want to protect your investment in you golf clubs?

I had a discussion with a couple of friends at my local course as to why I have cover on my irons and told them I look after my gear and don't want my irons getting dinged up, to which he pulled out an iron from his bag to hit his next shot and I added my still look new while yours and all banged up and even have dents in the grooves. I pulled out an iron for my next shot and show it to them, still looking new after 300 rounds of golf.

So I eventually received my T200 5 iron this week and went straight to the course today.

About 10 balls on the range, and then used it 4 times on the course.

Polymer on the rear is cracked already.

My retailer have said they’ll return it, but given I’ve waiting 3 months for it, and I’m still waiting for my T100s 6-gw, I have to live with it for the time being.

Titleist really and truly let themselves down from fitting to delivery with my experience I’m afraid.

I’m also disappointed to say that I’ve suffered the same issue with my new irons, to say I’m gutted is an understatement.
Only played 27 holes with them (9 carry, 18 mid size bag)
I didn’t expect this to happen and also worry what they’ll look like in 1-2 seasons of golf.

I just started my 2nd season and the back of my 48 degree is chipping and beginning to flake away showing a gray/whiteish plastic (polymer?) backing. It also looks to be starting on a couple of my other irons.

It was a close call between the T100S and these T200s at my fitting, but now I wish I had chosen the T100S. This is my 4th set of Titleist Irons (981 DCI, 962 DCI, AP2 716 and now the T200s). I never had a problem before but this is disappointing.
