I play a red x2 with a center shaft and love it. Love the golo center shafts too but haven't but the bullet on one of them yet.

I really love the Newport 2 and the vintage GSS type but I'm more of a straight back and thru putter so I've liked the golo 5 a lot but I just switched to the future 5R and I love it feels great and I can putt without having an arch.

Newport 2 all the way for me. png Anser and Newport 2 are the only two putters I care to use. Tried many different models over the years and always come back.

I have several Cameron Putters since I have been a Cameron Collector for several years now, so what I like seems to change quite often. That being said, apart from the Circle-T or Tour putters, lately I have been using and loving a Custom order Select "Heavy" Square Back with an Large Over Size Cameron Grip(like a super stroke). It also seems to be more Face Balanced and has the look of a "Newport On Steroids", in addition the bright red Alignment Cross is great as well.
  6. I've been looking at the Square back my self.  It has a nice crisp sound off the face and I don't seem to get that skid before roll that my putter gives me.  That's the only club in my bag that troubles me.  Good to here you like it.  Roll them well.

I have 2 gamers I use depending on the time of year and green speeds.  I have a regular Futura X that tends to work better in early spring and fall when greens don't get mowed everyday.  Most of my rounds are played with a Button Back ive used for 5 seasons now.  The teryllium insert feels great for me on faster greens.  I would also add that the Futura X is great for me to practice with when my straight back straight through desired path feels off.

Just put the Futura X5 in my bag for this year. Love it.

It just so happens that today I purchased a Newport 2 33" putter. I knew the moment that I saw that they had a 33" in-stock that it was coming home with me. You don't come across many 33" putters so I knew it was meant to be.

I currently using a Newport 2.5, but like the new SC dual Balance putters a lot. The heavier weight gives more stability, and I like the height of the neck (50"). If I had the money, though, I'd go for the SC M3; just love the way it looks.

    Scotty Cameron M3

  14. Golo Solo 5.  Here's a trick to get a little extra stability, yet still have a short putter:

    1. Strip off the grip

    2. Screw in a bolt to the top of the shaft

    3. Wind some lead tape around the bolt

    4. Put on a new grip.

For me the Newport 2 has the best shape. I also owned a Golo but I like the traditional blade. I own the Newport 2 in black and chrome. Black is nice but it looses the finish a bit over time (on the edges).

I really like the looks of the Fastback. I tried it at a local golf shop, and it felt nice. However, that golf shop doesn't have the very many Scotty Cameron's. Curious as to which putter you guys prefer.

Great thread! I've been gaming the Squareback for the past season and love this putter. Great technology combined with great feel and amazing design is the perfect combo to help inspire confidence for me on the greens.

Mike D. - I would be all over the squareback also, waiting for a plumber's neck version! :)

I have a few Scotty's that I interchange but I think my favorite is the black Newport 2.  That tends to be my go to.  However, my wife bought me a California Monterey a few years ago in the "gold" finish.  I love that putter and the classic look!

I just love my newport 2 added 20g weights and a smooth pistolero style grip but would also love to own a Monterey some day

Currently gaming the a 2015 GOLO 5 dual balance and I really like it.

But my favorite Scotty was studio design #5 that I traded away for I don't remember. Wish I still had that putter it was so sweet. I will get another someday.

I am new to SC putters, just in June this year. I putted with blade putters till I found that I am better fitted with mallets. I've had 3 different mallets then looked at the SC putters. GOLOs were great and tried it each time I had a chance till the Futura X5R. I've never had anything better- I love everything about it.

I like mid mallet putters, so my original Red X is back in the bag (with a Super Stroke Slim 3.0 grip).

I previously putted well with a used (and very beat up) Newport Mid Slant; the previous owner must not have used a headcover!.  I switched to a Super Stroke Mid Slim 2.0 grip for that one, and it is my back up.

Of the current line, I would consider the Select Fastback or Roundback if they had more conventional alignment lines!

I'm with you Chris. I just put my Red X back in the bag about 3 months ago and am putting great.  Made me wonder why I ever took it out.... hmm, maybe I shouldn't think about that.

Either way, the Fastback and other Scotty mallets and mid-mallets are all excellent choices.  Great balance, feel, and looks make for a confident stoke.

Good luck choosing just one Zach!

I'm not one to change putters very often but of the 3 SC putter that I have: Laguna 1997 TEI3 long neck SS X5-H14 the long neck is back in my bag at least for now. I like the X5 but having issues with it hopefully I can get it resolved. Love the look and the feel of the X5 though and if I get my issues fixed, it will be in my bag.

Jesse V - good to see another Red X fan!  If it works, why change?!  Keep the putts falling.

I have not played with another person with one.  And the only pros I remember using one were Darren C. and Charley Hoffman.

I'm a Newport 2 guy.  I've tried mallets and the others.  NP2 just fits my eye the best.  I love the pistolero grip Scotty designed because it's not quite the midsize grip but quiets my hands just enough while still giving me the feel I want.

My gamer is the black deep milled select.  Love that finish.

I am gaming a del mar 3 (not the 3.5) from the early 2000s. It just fits my stroke.
