I have a birdie ball. In the next couple of moths they will offer a good x-mas discount. Can not remember how much off but when I seen it I pulled the trigger on one.

I use the Putt Out Pro golf mat and the Pressure Putt trainer. The mat rolls out flat and even on any surface and has helped me practice putting indoors when I cannot get to the course. The pressure putt trainer also has helped me with pace.

Ideally you will want as flat as a surface as you can.

When I re carpeted my den, I tested a few carpets with my putter and selected one that felt comparable to a putting green. My better half nixed anything remotely "green colored". Being installed over cement and padding, there are a variety of subtle breaks and plenty of long straight ones. I even chip off of a golf mat and the ball reaction is excellent.

Took a putter and ball with me to the carpet store. Floor in the basement rolls about 11.5 which is perfect for me. Plus the Augusta Green layout makes everything just right.

Winters in Michigan create about 150 putts per night. Weeeeeeeee

I use a fifteen footer with two holes Big Moss.
  9. I also use the Camry material the pros floor their homes with. I think I saw most recently bubba Watson post a video of it on Instagram. I got 10x20ft from camrygolf.com for less than $200 shipped. Artificial grass would have cost $1500+. Lol

  11. I use a Big Moss putting surface. Rolls great and one can easily make adjustments to change the breaks, etc.

I use the kitchen floor. Super fast and it helps me feel the ball. Plus if you hit it a little off line you know it.

  15. This is a great thread! I ended up going with camry trunk carpet - recommended by webb simpson and ben crane. I used this link to purchase www.ebay.com/.../363406062134 he gave me a good deal on 20' worth , I paid $110 shipped. Rolled 11 speed and true, description was quite accurate and was very happy with it. I definitely would recommend this as an alternative to artificial. 4.jpeg.dce415b23cb0eb17bb65d8fd6b1a3e3b.jpeg2.jpeg.c7681f6354061367138aac7970a01b7e.jpeg5.jpeg.64f9c8c381d7cdaac7bc2861587dab2b.jpeg

Since I posted last we have had a complete renovation of our course and it is now rated #19 on golf.com of the top 30 municipals golf courses in America. What an upgrade. The weather is still good here and with the new greens, we get to putt on much much better greens and we now have a practice area for chipping and putting on greens that run ten to eleven. This really helps when going to other courses. The main thing I do is try to arrive early enough where I am playing to get in some time on their practice greens, from a lot of angles. Starting from long distances and moving forward for tempo. When on the range, it is strictly to warm up. I play three days a week and working on my game is something to do on my down days, including my putting game. We are blessed to live on the coast of S Carolina where we have good weather most of the time and can practice outside. With respect. cz
  17. Here is my set up...lucky to have an indoor room for putting...this is one side of it...

I use a BirdieBall carpet. I'm not really concerned about the speed of it. What I'm looking for is a consistent putting stroke. I've been working on that recently because sometimes I will miss a 2 ft putt very poorly. That said I do like the pace of the Birdie Ball putting mat. Good luck!

I built mine based off these plans. forum.mygolfspy.com/.../. Instead in Big Moss I used Home Depot and like how fast it rolls. Has helped my putting tremendously.
