Moving from Hawaii to California it was a slight change and I dealt with what was cold to me. Moving from California to Texas it gets damn cold during the winter when it does get cold! I'll play in almost any cold only if it's not real windy and or raining! For me this is when I won't play:

1) Cold, windy and raining
2) Cold and raining
3) Cold and wind from the north

As an Arizona resident, I have 330+ days of warm days. Enough said.

If the course is open, I will try and play. I've played in the 30's and 40's, you just have to dress for it. I even had my wife out in a scramble a few years ago that was 30+/- with snow and wind. She held it together for a full 18 holes.

For me it all depends on the wind which can have a big factor in playing. If it's 45 degrees, 5-10mph wind and sunny I can play. However in Texas the wind is a generally a factor and if it gets up to 15-20mph at 45 degrees, then I am probably at home.
Out to town, you just have to deal with what mother natures give you depending on the course. I've played quite a bit in the British Isles and played in all kinds of weather. I did however walk off Royal County Down after 5 holes one time when the winds were 35-40mph. I thought I could deal with it but I couldn't.

I will play in almost any temperature as long as the sun is out and the wind is down. Lowest I have played is 26 for the high ...no wind ...bright sunshine.

I much prefer now (age 73) to play when the weather is nicer, rather than cold. But as so many have said, it's all relative. Sunday when I played, the temps were in the 60's at the start (0700), but it wasn't really warm because the wind was up and the sun did not come out until after we were done. Today when I went out around 1030, it was in the mid-50's, but windier and it felt cold. Plus it was CPO and very wet and sloppy. Tomorrow morning's start at 8 am is expected to be with temperatures in the high 30's, warming up to about 50 by the time we finish the round. Lots of layers (sometimes up to five) to guard against the wind chill, especially if the sun is not out. I use hand warmers and cart mitts, as well, if needed. No heaters or covered carts, though. Playing in the summer when temperatures are in the 90's with high humidity is far easier on these old bones.

I'm in Michigan and played when snowing not much fun. So it has to be a least 45°

As I get older and back issues worsen my comfort level for temperature is going up. It wasn't that long ago that I would play in any temperature if the course was open. Although I can play when it's colder than 50* I've found the price to pay with the aftermath is too high. So much for all that garbage I was told about "The Golden Years."

I've played in the teens before, with snow falling. Dress in layers, walk the course, & it's no big deal.

Dress in layers especially if walking is my rule. By the 3rd hole I’m usually ready to shed a layer. If riding cart cover and heater are a must and provide tropical pleasure in between shots. Bottom line is play whenever I get a chance. #noexcuses
