Team Titleist Premium Membership Thoughts

  1. I am hearing rumors (in international TT countries) that a TT Premium Paid Membership may be coming in the future similar to the Scotty Cameron Membership. This would provide a path for more access to events or gear drops potentially.

What are your thoughts? Do you think this would be good for the future of our community?

    Thanks!

  2. I have a club cameron membership and it still near impossible to get the items when they are released. You have a matter of minutes to get something when it comes out. It is frustrating but I have had some luck and got some cool stuff.
  3. What time of year do the SC Club memberships open up? I’ve looked and can’t find any info.

I think this would be a good idea for the community in the future, depending on how much.

I think I'd like it, and I would definitely pay for it. The quality of the gear is second to none, although I worry about what else it would "create". The ones who buy Scotty Cameron gear and putters, only to flip them online for more money are more than a nuisance to those who would truly like to own and game SC gear.

I like the current model where we have access to events and that's truly how things go, but I would definitely be interested in a Premium Membership if it were offered.

Personally, I am not a fan of the subscription model for products. This is a service model, IMO, and seems like another way to segregate the golfing community via wealth and economics.

I'm in if it's run correctly. This could be great for TT members as long as it is run differently than Scotty's club. Bots have taken over that and it turns into people with no interest in the club or forums buying the gear only to resell it for 5x the price and keeping real members away from what they want. We'll see...

    Hi Chris!

Hope all is well on the other side of the pond and the golfing gods are treating you fairly ! Hahaha

Yeah I like the idea of this, be nice for some of the UK to get some of the US stuff that gets dropped that we don’t see in the UK.

    Price point would be interesting

I see pros and cons for this. Pro - More drops, gear and events. Con - you are segmenting people like some of the other manufacturers are doing.

The one great thing about the way TT runs, it's open to anyone. I love the fact that it encourages participation in the board and rewards as such. I used to be a Cameron Club member back in the day 2006-2010, coming back to it now it's been overrun by people who are trying to make a resellers business instead of people who are fans or the product. I would hate for this to go that route. It would be great if there was a TT shop as part of this website, like what is available at Ball Plant 3.
  11. I agree. Having a TT shop would be nice. I've looked into the SC club and agree with everybody else. It's more of resellers jumping in there and taking away from the true SC fans. Unfortunately, you're going to have that no matter what it is.

The Scotty Cameron Membership was a great idea in the beginning, but has become less attractive over the years. Would have to see what it would be like to make an objective decision. If it works like the SC Membership would not be interested. I dropped out in 2014. The community seems stable and growing. We are getting great participation from our members and the events have been awesome. I see TT as a thank you for being a loyalist to the brand.

I would like to see this happen. There would likely be community members interested in exclusive content, early looks at TT mech, early registration for events, etc.
    Thanks for your post!
  15. There was a survey emailed out about this. I am a member of Club Cameron, and I'd absolutely consider the same for Team Titleist, depending on cost.

…I thought buying the equipment was the premium package. Not that I don’t find great value in buying the equipment. I’m just not sure of the utility of a premium membership. Clubs and balls are tools for my game. I can’t see accumulating clubs or covers like the Cameron club.
Others may feel differently (that’s what makes America great). I’d have to see the program to see it offers a good value.

I guess my initial thoughts are that it might create two distinct groups, not unlike how the PGA Tour and LIV Golf have fractured. There will be those who wanted in but did not get a membership in time, and others who financially could not handle the cost. The "premium members" will be posting all about the things they do and the stuff they accumulate and the others will probably show their resentment towards them. There really is not a Scotty community outside the Cameron Club, only Scotty owners who show loyalty through this TT group. As for a path to more events or gear, that can exist already. Our fees to events covers the cost and the only thing stopping more is the administrative burden to do them. That would have to be provided as a plus up to handle a new group so fees would be high to cover all that additional cost. I personally would like to see the Ambassador status formalized based on other factors than a premium paid membership and that ambassadorship rewarded in special events or opportunities without allowing paid-in membership. I realize this is just one person's views and there will be lots of opinions on both sides of the argument for or against paid membership. Also, "the devil is in the details". How much money and how many spots will be a big factor. If they had always had a small initial fee to sign up, our current TT population would be much less as there are thousands in the system that just signed up hoping for a bag tag or to leave a negative comment on the forum.
  18. well put. I believe a paid membership could kill the community and make it a flippers paradise much like club cameron

As always Dale comes up with a well thought out and reasonable response. I agree whole heartedly with everything you said. I thought about the Club Cameron thing a few times but after hearing all the complaints I felt it wasn't worth it. I absolutely agree that participation should be counted toward some sort of reward but..... this also leads to a lot of one line responses to just get your numbers up. I guess as with many things that include people there is no easy answer.

We do have a Scotty Cameron Community outside of Club Cameron. We have TCC (the cameron collector group) as well as many ongoing regional and global events.

Love the Ambassador program as a premium. Also can see benefits to a paid TT. Regardless I’m sure it will be executed correctly and first class as always.

I think it all depends on how much control over "the Bots" one can make the membership. In general, I am a bit on the fence (leaning towards supportive) but would want to hear the details. But the SC membership is out of control - cannot access it to begin with, then if you do, everything sells out before the membership can react.

All said though, not sure I see the need for change ....

While I've appreciated the 'free' status of the TT Community over the years, as I was doing the questionnaire a few weeks back, I wasn't surprised given so many things have become subscription based.

For Titleist, I can see having an identified core group to make more items available (vs just Ball Plant 3), provide testing opportunities to ensure more feedback/responses and greater participation at supported events - would make financial sense.

All in all - I'm ok with it. Enjoy the journey!
  30. That would be pretty cool. One of the biggest draws of the Club Cameron memberships is access to buying putters from the gallery. Would they consider Vokey Wedges or Driver/Fairway woods from the tour for purchase?

So many good responses already by members whose opinions I value and trust. Personally I would likely join because I love the brand and am proud to represent it in any way possible. Downside would be a further fracture between those that can get in and those that don’t. Just my thoughts

Wha would perks be.. I cold see it being a great investment to move the brand. The FJ Ambassador was a great program initially, but they lost funding for it and it fell apart!

Agree. The FJ Ambassador was a great program. We got to test new products coming out. You had to get to that level by earning points thru purchases and posts and believe there were only around 70 at it's peak worldwide. Golf events/trips were for the Ambassadors only, not for the entire FJ Community. Think you and I made the last trip to Cabot Cliffs/Links before it was dissolved. There a number of FJA's that are TT members. See them at the Annual Invitationals. So sorry to see it go away. Some of the Ambassadors working FJ Chat Line and one as Tech Rep for FJ Sales Rep. Some still involved in the brand.

I see the pros and cons, but I feel it might turn into a Club Cameron situation. I used to be a part of it as I game a Scotty. However, in recent years I can’t get anything because I work at a job where I can’t check the internet all day, and things sell out within hours. I think it’s not good that I can’t buy a putter grip for my putter, as they immediately sell out or have been sold out for months. I don’t think I should have to go to EBay to get a grip for the putter I bought. Just my opinion.

I don’t want TT to turn into that. If you are a regular poster they will reward you.

Also, go to Ball Plant III. You will gain a new respect for the exacting specifications that Titleist puts on their product. Amazing.
