  1. At first I wasn't sure if I would like the ball but I have been rotating through the ProV1, the ProV1x, and the AVX. I think the ProV's are more accurate on distance and spin but the AVX is fun to play for a boring trajectory.
  2. The AVX has been a game changer for me. My handicap has dropped from the mid-20s down to 17. Drives are straight, instead of a slice; distance is exceptional from the tee box and with irons; and the feel—tee to green—is perfect in my opinion: softer feel with solid feedback.

I was never a Pro V1 user or fanboy—I found that ball too clicky—and the 1x is way too much spin for my swing. I used to play the Bridgestone B330-RX because my swing speed is right around 100-105mph. As good as that golf ball is, it still would go offline if I didn’t put a perfect swing on it. With the AVX, I’m still in play with not so good swings. And when I square up the AVX with my Titleist 913 D3 driver, it is straight and very long: 260+ yards long or more. Great ball.

I need to say that I’m kinda disappointed in the lack of coverage and promotion I see for the AVX. It has me worried that the ball won’t remain a staple in Titleist golf ball offerings. All the email promo I get from Titleist or other retailers constantly bombard me with Pro V1 this and Pro V1x that. That’s cool. I get it. Those two are the best balls out here in the golf universe. But.... What about the rest of us who benefit from the subtle differences offered by the AVX? Please keep it going Titleist!

Again, I never see any AVX marketing or promo. And there’s not much buzz when I search “AVX” online. This is really too bad because the Titleist AVX is a great option for mid-handicap amateurs like me who need to reduce spin, add distance, and generally have better opportunities to score in and around the green.

The AVX allows me to play strategic golf as opposed to 18 holes of defensive golf dominated by recovery shots. Put more simply: the AVX has made golf even more fun for me as an amateur. Thank you for that, Titleist.
  3. Better feel, straighter ball flight
  4. Honestly only played the ball for a little while, when I was struggling to knock spin off my driver. It obviously performed as well as a low spin, soft ball can, but now that I feel more comfortable hitting up on the ball, it’s hard to justify not sticking to greens as well and not getting as high ballspeed. Good ball if it fits you.
  5. So I want to give an honest review, long time proV1x player. I have alway put a lot of backspin on the ball, even with the driver. Noticed my drives were actually checking with the x, simply just wanted more roll with driver without the ball feeling like a rock. I experienced with all premium balls, tpx, chrome softx, srxn, all either too soft or too hard, and a major adjustment with short game with spin, until Avx!!! Don’t let the exceptionally soft feel claim discourage you. I don’t want a super soft feel like a prov1, that’s why I always played the proV1x. Avx is a one hop and stop ball so no major adjustment from the x. Much longer off the driver for me, definitely getting the 10 yards of roll, ball flight a touch lower off driver only and much more piercing flight. No noticeable difference with irons. Absolutely smokes with a 3 wood too! Just feel like it’s a bit all round better the the proV1x. I was skeptical, watched all the u tube reviews and all the online reviews, tried them and threw darts all day, was spinning the back with full pitching wedge just as with the x. I am a 4.3 handicap, rely heavily on my short game as my swing speed is right 100mph so I am not a bomber by any means but this ball put me just behind the scratch bombers I play with the drive. Hope this helps
  6. I feel like I can keep the AVE in the fairway far more consistently off the tee. I also am getting some yardage gain, maybe 10 to 20 yards because of a lower kordbpenetrating flight.
Best of all is the confidence these balls give me to swing away without fear. Great ball for my game as about a 15 handicapper.
  7. I like the characteristics of the AVX ball. It is longer than the ProV in my opinion with a more penetrating ball flight. I feel AVX ball has a lot less side spin which keeps it on target better. It doesn't seen to have that drifting draw or fade. For me, the only reason the ProV's are still in the bag is difference around the greens. The AVX doesn't have the same response around the greens. Overall I think the AVX is the second best ball Titleist makes.

I went to the fitting at Bay Pointe CC 8/9/19 and worked with Emma, she showed me how AVX can help my game and I have definitely enjoyed the longer lower spin shots and soft feel. Still very close with ProV1 but at least now I know for sure that ProV1X is not the best option for me. Definitely looking at AVX in a new light, thanks.
  9. I think it's a great ball! I spin the ball to much and the AVX has reduced my spin number and added some distance to my longer clubs. On top of everything the feel is great. Not spongy but soft off wedges and putter.

The extra distance with irons is great.
The lower trajectory and less side spin off the tee from the driver is helping me keep balls in play a lot more lol

Is it really a "Quick Poll" if the tread is 1 1/2 years old? :)

What I love most about this ball is the accuracy. I constantly play in windy conditions, and this ball holds its line better than any other ball I have ever played. Especially into the wind. Does it have the complete short game control as the Pro V1? Who knows. Because I can hit the same shots around the green with it. I do know it is longer than the Pro V1, and due to that, I am hitting shorter shots into the greens. Which means I am hitting more greens per round. I am surprised more scratch players are not using this ball.

I received a dozen AVX as a present and I live in Florida where the wind is known the blow now and then. I find the distance off the irons to be fantastic plus I hit it lower off my driver. I am a high ball hitter and this ball really works for me. I am a 2 handicapper but I have hard time if the wind is blowing real hard but this ball was great...74 and the wind was gusting to 25 mph!!!!

For me, after trying everything else on the market, the AVX was the only ball that gave me a "penetrating" flight pattern. Most of the other balls just went too high for my game. The AVX was a true winner - and this was from a non-Titleist guy. Now, it's all Yellow AVX's in the bag - strictly for the performance gains.
